Ok!!! I never imagined I would be so SLOW at updating this site...but LOL college was a little more stressfull than I imagined. So due to TREMENDOUS response to the website which I also didn't expect....here's the beginnings of the Music Suggestion Page....

Music...its one of the most important factors in any routine. Its important for a twirler to relate to the music, if you hate the song- well- what's to keep you from hating the routine? I always try to make routines to music that I enjoy, or whoever I'm teaching enjoys. My favorite routine was to "Devil Went Down to Georgia" which is really REALLY long, so unless you don't have a time limit or you want to twirl/dance for almost 4 minutes...cut it down!!!! I danced with a cowboy hat for the first min. or so, until the real music starts...if you know the song u know what I mean. I also wore a cow printed two piece outfit that was really great for the song and the routine, which I got from my best friend.

Other great twirling songs- most oldies...my favorite that I've yet to do a routine too for a real reason- Hippy Hippy Shake- by the Swinging Blue Jeans (the movie Cocktail) I love this song and its short...Under 2 minutes

Great Balls of Fire is fun but SUPER FAST!!!

Cuban Pete from the movie the Mask is really fun also

I have twirled to the Peanuts theme song that was a lot of fun, a little of 2 min. with a good spot for 2 or more baton in the middle.

Crazy Little Thing Called Love- that's my latest project

I've also found a lot of music on old band cd's that belonged to my director, The Contender was a really fast paced routine for my junior season. I wore a black 2 piece outfit accented with these Carribean colored fluffy sleeves LOL i'm still amazed I twirled in them.

Diamonds are Girls Best Friend- pretty popular at a lot of auditions I've been too.

Let 'Er Rip by the Dixie Chicks also showed up a lot in recent years.

I'll add more as I think of them, and after I go to the Crimsonette's Tryouts on May 3,2003[I'm not trying out till next spring...school was too much to prepare enough this time]
