Michael
Chambers
was born in 1969, he is the YOUNGEST member of
TOF. He grew up in Eastern Iowa where he studied
violin as a child. He learned to play drums somewhat, then
eventually guitar at age 14. His family has a very
musical background. His father, Richard, was an
Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee in 2000 (The
Iowa RockNRoll Music Associations
Hall of Fame).
He was a founding member of the Beach Niks.
His mother is a classical music enthusiast as well
as a singer and multi instrumentalist.
.
In 1990-91,
while serving in the USAF, He played with the
Disposable Heroes overseas during Desert
Storm. In 1992, he moved to West Tennessee with his
new wife and son. He played in Dirty Volume
with the late, great Jimmy Todd. Then with 2nd
Priority, out of Lexington Tn. (Those members
would later form Common Ground, Hard Drive,
and Sprong) In 1994,he joined the Jackson
band DR. BANG. 9 months later, Michael, and
the other guitarist created CONTROL FREAKS.
In 1996, he took a year
off. He did play with Big Mac’s Cadillac for
one show. Next was The Clique. It only
lasted a few months. Too much travel involved.
Then he was recruited for the HRS (Hatchie
Rhythm Section.) They worked for several months
in 1997.
Pay
attention now, this is where it all falls in
place.
In 1999,
Eric, former
leader of HRS, called him to jam with him and
some friends of his. It was Ed, and Bill. They had
been in a later version of HRS. Anyway,
Eric quit coming, so they continued to jam for
several months. Then one night, Randy showed up at
our rehearsal. Come to
find out, he used to sing for Hard Heart,
which was the original name of his old band Dr.
Bang. What made it even stranger, Randy
had served in the USAF, and had lived in Iowa for
a while. TWIST OF FATE!
