Randy
Ferguson's (Lead
vocals/guitar) musical influences began with a
Johnny Cash loving Army Sergeant father and a Patsy
Cline loving mother and have since run the full
gamut from Willie Nelson and Lynyrd Skynyrd to
Mozart and Frank Zappa and most everything in
between.
Singing in church by the age
of 6, Randy finally picked up a guitar (after a
lifetime of wanting to) at 26, took a few lessons
and joined a band with his brother Joe and their
hard drumming friend "Steady Ed" Harris called the
Black Bottom Blues Band. From there Randy sang in
various bands including Hard Heart (a predecessor to
Bang and Control Freak) and WFO in West Tennessee
before moving to the Mississippi Delta where he
formed Blue Steel with an emphasis on blues and
later Stone Canyon, a hard rocking band who gathered
a huge following in the Delta Region.
Upon returning to Tennessee
Randy again called upon the services of his friend
Ed Harris and found that "Steady Ed" was playing in
a three piece band that would later (due to strange
coincidence) become one serious
TWIST OF FATE.
