Sitting Waiting

He sits alone
waiting at the end of the hall
will she come?
will he see her tall form?
melancholy beauty encompassed painful wisdom
as she stands fumbling keys
delicately fingering back a stray lock
adjusting a woolen coat

he sits alone waiting

She sits alone waiting
waiting for a false love
visual and aesthetic
will he show?
a prayer rings out in the night air
1, 2, 3 coffees
waiting
blond hair and cerulean eyes
growing older, wiser , sadness

They sit waiting
not knowing
beliefs, hopes and wishes
wishes and what ifs
shattering before their feet
while sitting waiting
