Story Line

The story starts out with Kagome Higurashi, who is celebrating her fifteenth birthday. Her younger brother, Sota, was playing around the old well on the temple grounds where they live and thinks that the cat, Buyo,has fallen in the well.
Kagome ventures into the shed where the well is and is grabbed my two hands and pulled inside the well. She finds out that the hands belong to Mistress centipede, a large centipede woman that keeps asking for a jewlel. Kagome pushes her off and one of Mistress centipede's arms comes off in the process.
When she comes out of the well she is not in her world anymore, she is in a forest in feudal Japan. She sees a 'dog boy' pinned to a tree with a arrow in his chest. Then she makes her way to a village and meets a old woman named, Kaede.
Everyone in the village become shocked when they see her because she resembles Kaeda's deceased sister, Kikyo. Kagome finds out that she is in feudal Japan and the boy on the tree was Inu-Yasha, a half demon who was once in love with Kikyo but betrayed her.
Mistress centidede comes back for revenge and when she rips the Shikon jewel(Shiko no Tama) out of Kagome's side she becomes more powerful. Inu Yasha, who has woken up from a 50 year nap(ok...not really a 'nap' but you get it)thinking he smells Kikyo only to find out its Kagome. Kagome releases Inu Yasha from the tree he his stuck to, thinking this is the only way to defeat mistress centipede. She is in shock as she realizes Inu Yasha isn't the hero but wants the jewel for himself.
Kaede casts a spell which encircles beads around Inu Yasha's neck telling Kagome to say the word. She has no idea what 'the word' is but noticing Inu Yasha's ears she says "Sit Boy" and he falls on his face(Always funny)
A mutant vulture/crow type bird gets its claws on the jewel and eats it growing to outstanding sizes. Kagome's only hope to hit the bird is by shooting its foot at it which was removed in battle. The foot is drawn to the jewel's magical force but unfortunatly the arrow brakes the jewel too.
Now Kagome carries the jewel fragments around her neck on a necklace. Her and Inu Yasha(There group grows as more who desire the jewel in the hands of good unite with them)must recover all the scattered pieces before evil claims them.
