Check it out!  A whole truckload of links to modeling companies, online hobby shops and pages by other hobbyist like you and me.  Since I am interested in all types of models, these links represent everything from cars to airplanes to tanks and such.  If the section gets to big, I will divide it out into specific model type categories.

Manufacturers

Testors Arguably the best American model manufacturer.   They make plastic and metal bodied car, truck and airplane kits.  They also have a wonderful line of paints and building tools.
Tamiya Makers of some of the finest plastic models around.  They also have a make a fairly extensive line of paints and tools.   Model lines include cars, trucks, motorcycles, ships, tanks, airplanes, etc...   This site also covers their line of R/C products as well.
Revell-Monogram Another big American manufacturer. 
Italeri An Italian model maker.  Features a pictorial catalog.
Academy Makers of airplane and AFV plastic models and several R/C models.

 

Hobby Shops

Hobby Link Japan Distributor of models from Japanese companies.  If you have a hard time finding models from Bandai, Tamiya, Hasegawa, Fujimi, etc...  Give this site a try.  They are based in Japan so the shipping takes a little longer, but at least you can get them.  Site is in English.  Online ordering available.
Plastic Models Tower Hobbies has set up this website specifically for plastic models.   Give a picture and description of most models as well as tells you what paints you need.  Also tells if  item is in stock.  Online ordering available.
EWA Cars Hobby shop in New Jersey that has an online presence.  Specializing in car models, books, videos, and  magazines.  They offer a subscription service that allows you to subscribe to magazines they carry.  When the latest issue comes in, they will send it to you.  Online ordering available.
Southern Motorsports Hobbies Don't let the name fool you, they carry an extensive line of model kits, including street cars, construction vehicles, race cars and airplanes.  They also carry miniature figures and aftermarket decal sets.  They are based in the North Carolina.  Online ordering available.
F1 Specialties Carries Formula 1 model kits and accessories.
Mega Hobby HUGE online hobby shop.  If they don't have it, you don't need it.  Online ordering available.
Squadron This shop features models and decals for aircraft mostly.  Online ordering available.
San Antonio Hobby Shop An online hobby shop out of Texas.   Carries tools, RC cars, and plastic kits of all kinds.  Online ordering available.

 

Magazines/Books

Scale Aircraft Modeling Official website for this British magazine.  The website has few books for sale and tells what is in the current issue.   This is a really good magazine for all types of aircraft modelers, military and commercial.
Fine Scale Modeler Official website for Fine Scale Modeler magazine.  This magazine focuses on making your models as good you want them to be.  A lot of articles on finishing down the finest details.  The website contains some quick kit reviews and extended articles that can only be obtained online, as well as a modelers classified section.
Scale Auto Enthusiast Official website for Scale Auto Enthusiast magazine.  Includes sample articles, a classified section and readers creations.  You guessed it, though.  Automobiles only in here.
Warpaint Books British company that produces detailed books on aircraft for painting and detailing purposes.  Website features a distributor list and upcoming releases.

 

Aftermarket Suppliers

Scale Motorsport WOW!  Talk about detail.  These guys make the best detailing kits out there.  Recently they teamed up with Tamiya to produce an ultra-detailed Porsche 956.  Check it out.
The Last Detail If you aren't happy with the decals that came with your model, check these guys out.  They produce decals to replicate the stock markings on 60's/70's muscle cars.
Slixx Makers of very fine decals for modeling race cars.  Carries decal sets for NASCAR, NHRA, Craftsman Truck, SCCA/Trans Am, and Sprint cars.
Bare-Metal Foil Makers of a fine line of metal foil products designed to add more realism to your models.  Online ordering available.
Gold Medal Models This company supplies decal sets and photo-etched detailing kits for model ships and trains.
Custom License Plates Technically a part of the Model Car Hub, but this is such a cool thing I have to give it a seperate link.  You can order custom license plates for your car models.   Allows you to choose state and license plate design.
Model Car Garage This company makes high-quality detailing accessories for your model cars
Twobobs Aviation Graphics VERY nice ACCURATE decal sets for aircraft.  They even have aggressor squadron markings!!
AMRAAM Line The have some nice resin conversion kits for aircraft.
Belchers Bits Conversion kits and decals for aircraft.  Mostly Canadian markings and conversions.
Custom Aeronautical Miniatures (CAM) Nice resin conversion kits and decal sets for many aircraft.  Mostly carrier based aircraft (F-4, F-14, F-18, A-4, ES-3, etc...) along with a few A-10 decal sheets.  Resin parts for modern warplanes.
Eagle Strike Productions Aftermarket decals for military aircraft.

 

Resources

Aircraft Resource Center This site is simply amazing.  Contains photos of aircraft taken by modelers with modelers in mind.  If  you are looking for good detail of an airplane, they probably have the plane you are looking for.
PC Modeler This site features kit reviews, tutorials, links, and a good message board for modelers.
Coaster's Motorcycle Modeling A site chock full of information on model motorcycles.
Model Car Hub Site with all kinds of links and resources for model car modelers
J-Aircraft All you want to know about Japanese aircraft.

Denny Johannson Car modeler from Sweden.
C.J. Hilton CJ's Scale Auto Modeling Corner. Very nice classic car models.
Antonio Holmes This guy does some really nice paint jobs on his cars.
David Campbell Goes by the name of 'Hover Lover'.  Has some fabulous helicopter models.  Check out his stunning AH64D in 1/48 scale.
Brent Kelly Very nice collection of WWII military aircraft.
AirAlex Extenxive collection of 1/144 scale aircraft.   Very nicely put together models.
