"Hii~ee!! Welcome to the character page. This page will tell you a bit about Miaka and her Seshi. If the descriptions seem sortta short and pathetic, it's because they are. Any way, here goes...."

Miaka Yuki

Miaka is basicly the star of the whole series. She is a junior high student who's studing for her entrance exams (seems to me all manga heroines are junior high students studing for their entrance exams, but that's 'sides the point). Oh, and she's a glutton and apperantly not that smart and popular with the boys (HA! as if) ('kay, maybe in modern day Japan she ain't) Anyways,

one day, she and her best friend Yui (more on her later) were at the library studying, when Miaka wanders off and finds a book (The Universe of the Four Gods). She and Yui began reading it, and got sucked into the book, were attacked, saved by Tamahome (more on him later too :P ), and got out of the book. Later, Miaka had a fight with her mom, and ran off and got sucked into the book again, where she hocked up with Tamahome, they both got arrested, escaped, met the emperor, and Miaka agreed to be the Priestess of Suzaku **breath**. Now Maika has to find all of her Seshi and summon Suzaku and save Hong-Nan (Konan). She and Tamahome are in love and plan to get married and stuff (but that ain't until later. Tape 8 or so)  Oh, she lives with her mom and her older brother Keisuke.

Tamahome

Tamahome is the strongest of Suzaku no miko's seshi. He's the first person Maika and Yui meet in the book and he's the one who Miaka later trys to find when she returns. Tamahome has a tendency to be greedy. Really greedy. But that's because he comes from a really poor and large family (two brothers and two sisters, one sick father, and no mom), so he's always trying to make money so they can eat and live and stuff. Let's see...what else.... like I've said before, he's the strongest seshi and he's really good at

martial arts. His symbol is on his forehead (it's the character for oni (ogre)), and his only weakness is Miaka, with whom he's in love with. Unfortunetly, Tamahome and Miaka aren't allowed to be together until after they summon Suzaku **sniff**

Hotohori

Hotohori's the second seshi that Miaka found. He's the emperor of Hong-Nan, and he's really beautiful. Hotohori's skill is with the sword ans his symbol's on his neck. He's also in love with Miaka. :p and wants to make her his empress. Hotohori has had a crush on Suzako's miko since he found out about her, because he hoped that she'd be the first person to love him for

himself and not 'cause he's the emperor. **sniff** (that's so beautiful!!) So anyways, he really cares about Miaka, and tries to win her affection even if he knows that she loves Tamahome. Later, he learns that you can't order someone's feelings to change, and he ends up marrying someone else,(who looks a lot like Nuriko **HHMMM**).

Nuriko

(My fave character. I just Luv him...her...Nuriko ^_^ )

Nuriko was one of the imperial consorts in the palace. Her/his symbol's on the collar and (s)he is really strong (as in can pick up a boulder the size of a house with a pinky strong). Nuriko's a crossdresser (thus the (s)he) who's in love with Hotohori. (S)he and Miaka didn't get along well at the begining, but later they became best friends, and Nuriko ends up falling in love with Miaka (but doesn't do anything since (s)he wanted Miaka and Tamahome to be

together). Nuriko ends up going straight at the end, and we find out that the only reason (s)he's a crossdresser is 'cause when his/her sister died, (s)he didn't want anyone to forget her, so (s)he decided that (s)he'll continue living her life for her. (They were really close and his/her sister died in front of her/him) **sniff**
