Note: First of all, to properly introduce this bootleg, this concert is not found in any Oasis gigography. Oasis played a secret gig in front of the crowd of hardcore fans who were gathered at the venue for the 'Cigarettes & Alcohol' promo video shoot. The crowd was allowed to enter Borderline already during soundcheck which is why the fantastic instrumental track exists on the bootleg. Between the soundcheck and the actual video shoot the crowd was given instructions by the stage manager. Then the band returned and mimed to a playback of 'Cigarettes & Alcohol' for a few times. After all the hard work was done Liam announced "Here's some songs now", and the show began.
The band is in a very relaxed mood and playing is loose. Live premieres of 'Listen Up' and 'Whatever' are included in the setlist - months prior to their actual release! Other rarities also exist. Even though Tony's intro drumming for 'Cloudburst' leads only to 'Shakermaker', there's an excellent electric version of 'Spaceman'. Liam first tries to sing the song himself but then leaves the vocal duties to his brother.
In all, it's remarkable how almost nobody has been aware of this concert before. After all, this bootleg has to be one of the best Oasis bootlegs ever! By the same excellent recorder are also available such great recordings as 'Windsor', 'Kentish Town Forum' and most recently 'Finsbury Park I'.
