The case didn’t go so well as I planned it. As Tarter spoke about the incident that happened a few nights ago, my client Jefferson sat there beside me with his hands folded up like fists, so tight in fact that his knuckles threatened to pop out. Jefferson lost his temper and took a hit at Tarter. I don’t blame the guy! Tarter was sitting up at the stand with his head up his rear end. And there I was watching Jefferson getting handcuffed by security. Jefferson’s hot temper is the one major thing that is against us. Showing all this anger will lead to the thought that Jefferson really did murder those children. And Tarter’s not helping one bit. As the security took Jefferson away in handcuffs, I wiped the sweat off of my forehead and lit a cigar wondering it we were going to get through this case in one piece.
