Buns on the Grill
by Gilda Lily
The department store is crowded, Benny and Ray making their way
through the aisles and stepping outside to the garden department. They
argue over the color of the lawn furniture they want to purchase, then
look over the backyard barbecues, finally drifting over to the lawn
mowers. Benny bends over to closely inspect one old-fashioned push
mower and Ray turns from his inspection of a sit-down machine. His face
registers his pleasure at the view presented to him, then he frowns.
Two hunky men are whispering and pointing at Benny. One of the Adonises
starts to approach the clueless Canadian and Ray promptly steps between
them, resting his elbow on one firm buttock. Chin in hand, he stands
casually and mouths the word, "Taken". A pause. "Several times." The
hunk backs off, and when Benny straightens with a quizzical smile on his
face, Ray is smiling at him. As they walk to the flower section, Ray
lightly pats Benny's ass.
