Crackling
by Gilda Lily

Flames crackle in the fireplace as Benny reads a new book while sitting on the couch, his sexy legs stretched out, his stockinged feet resting on the coffee table. Ray sits in his favorite overstuffed chair, turning the pages of a glossy magazine entitled OUTDOOR HEALTH. Dief yawns while laying on the rug in front of the fireplace. Snow falls outside the window, an occasional gust of wind rattling the eaves. Benny is wearing his old white sweater with the frayed collar, and Ray is resplendent in his olive-green turtleneck shirt. Maybe they'll put on their pants tomorrow.
