notes/disclaimers
Ben looked up from the book he was reading and glanced
at his lover. They had finished dinner about two hours
ago, and they were now in the living room.
Benny was relaxing in the easy chair reading, but Ray
was hard at work, trying to pull together a report for
work. He was seated on the floor in front of the
coffee table, notes and files and other assorted
papers scattered across the table's surface.
As Ben watched, Ray dropped his pen onto the table and
squeezed his eyes shut, pinching the bridge of his
nose. He then placed his elbows on the table and
rested his face in his hands, rubbing his eyes.
After a moment he leaned back against the couch,
massaging his temples.
"You have a headache, Ray?" Ben asked quietly.
Ray started slightly. "Yeah."
"Another one?"
"Yup." Ray picked up his pen again, and Ben stood up
and moved over to the couch. Taking the pen from Ray's
hand, Ben dropped it onto the table. "Benny!"
Ben sat down on the sofa and pulled Ray back to lean
against his legs. "You can finish that report
tomorrow."
"Benny, I-"
"Sssssh," Ben said. He began massaging Ray's
shoulders, and Ray's protest trailed off into a sigh.
"Do you need some aspirin?"
"No, just keep doing that."
Ben smiled. "With pleasure." He continued massaging
Ray's shoulders for a few minutes, then he slid down
to the end cushion and pulled Ray up next to him. "Lie
down, love," Ben said quietly, pulling Ray's head and
shoulders into his lap.
Ray sighed happily, and Ben began to massage his
temples. "You know Benny, this is almost worth getting
a headache."
Ben smiled. "Actually Ray, I'd be happy to do this any
time at all."
"Oh, I'll have to remember that," Ray said. He winced
slightly and started rubbing his eyes.
"Are your eyes bothering you again?" Ben asked, gently
stroking Ray's forehead.
"Yeah."
Ben frowned. "Ray, I really think you should go and
visit the eye doctor."
"I don't need glasses, Benny!"
"Ray, it wouldn't hurt to go and get your eyes
checked, just to be safe. You get headaches every time
you do paperwork or read anything lately. And I've
seen you squinting when you're trying to read."
"That doesn't mean anything Benny. I've had lots of
paperwork lately, my eyes are probably just tired."
"I have that much paperwork every day, Ray; and I
don't get headaches or eyestrain."
"Well I guess I'm just not Super Mountie," Ray
snapped.
"I didn't mean it like that," Ben said.
Ray looked up at Ben and saw the hurt expression on
his face. "I know you didn't, baby," he said; reaching
up to caress Ben's cheek. Ben smiled at him and leaned
down for a quick kiss.
"I just think you should get your eyes checked, Ray.
It's not a sign of weakness, or your advancing old
age. It just means that you might need a little help
with your vision."
Ray looked up at him with narrowed eyes. "Are you
laughing at me?"
"No Ray. Of course not."
"You are! You're laughing at me!"
"Well Ray, I-"
"I guess there's only one way to shut you up," Ray
said, pulling him down into another kiss.
Benny willingly shut up.
Ben sat in the waiting room, trying hard to be
interested in a year and a half old issue of Islands
magazine. He had taken the afternoon off to go to
lunch with Ray and then accompany him on his visit to
the eye doctor. Ray had gone in for his exam about
twenty minutes ago. Ben grinned slightly as he
wondered how Ray was faring.
The door to the exam room opened and Ray stepped
through, holding a prescription note. "I need
glasses," he told Benny; in much the same tone as he
would have said "I need a kidney transplant."
"It's all right, Ray," Ben said, walking over to him
and placing a hand on his shoulder.
"I only need them for reading, though, so that's not
so bad."
"No, not at all."
Ray sighed. "Come on, I guess we'd better go pick out
my frames."
The two men walked from the doctor's office into the
optical shop. There were many display cases with all
different styles and colors of glasses frames. Ray
walked over to one of the display cases and looked
over the assortment of frames with an air of
discouragement. He lifted up several pair, then put
them back without trying them on.
Ben, meanwhile, had been glancing around the store,
and he suddenly froze, and a grin spread over his
face. On the opposite side of the store was a display
case labeled "Armani Eyeglasses".
"Ray," Ben said, tapping him on the shoulder. "I think
we might have good luck over there."
He pointed at the Armani display case, and Ray gasped
slightly and his face lit up in a smile. "Now we're
talking! This may not be totally horrible after all."
The two men headed over to the display case, Ray much
more interested in the process than he had been just a
few seconds ago. He stood looking down at the stylish
frames, and he smiled. "Now this is more like it."
He pulled a pair of glasses from the shelf and tried
them on. "What do you think?" He asked Benny.
Ben looked at Ray, then tilted his head to the side.
The glasses were dark brown in color, with round
frames. "I'm not sure, Ray. I don't think those are
quite it."
"No?" Ray looked at his reflection in the mirror.
"Yeah, I think you're right." He took them off and
placed them back in the case and kept looking.
"Here we go!" Ray suddenly exclaimed. He pulled out
another pair of glasses and slipped them on. "What do
you think?"
Ben looked at him, and his heart skipped a beat. The
glasses were pewter-colored metal and had narrow oval
frames. They were sleek and elegant and attractive,
like Ray himself; and Ray looked very stunning indeed.
"I think those are perfect, Ray. They look very good
on you. It's like those glasses were made for you."
"Yeah?" Ray turned to regard himself in the mirror.
"Yeah, they look okay, I guess."
"They look better than okay."
Just then a salesman approached them. He was in his
mid-twenties, wearing a somber black suit and a tie
with a Mickey Mouse motif. He had close-cut red hair
and lively blue eyes. "Those glasses suit you
perfectly," he told Ray with a flirtatious glance.
Ben bristled. He took a step forward, moving just
inside Ray's personal space. "That's what I told him."
The salesman's face fell. "Yes. Well, if you come with
me, I'll get those glasses sized for you and then we
can get them fitted with lenses."
Ben smiled at the salesman. "Thank you kindly."
That evening after dinner Ray and Benny were in the
living room reading again. Ben was continuing with his
novel, and Ray was absorbed in a sports magazine. He
looked over at Ben. "You know, I never really noticed
how blurry things were until they got better."
Ben just smiled at him.
"And don't you dare say 'I told you so'." Ray ordered.
"I wouldn't."
"Yes you would."
"Okay, I would; but I won't in this instance."
Ray laughed. "Thank you kindly, Benny." He went back
to reading, but looked up again a few minutes later.
"Benny?"
"Yes?"
"Why are you staring at me?"
"I'm just admiring your new glasses."
Ray snorted. "Sure Benny. I look like a geek."
"Indeed you do not. You look sexy and handsome. They
make you look intelligent and sophisticated. As you
are."
Ray shook his head.
"You look rather like a college professor, Ray."
"Maybe you need glasses, Benny."
Ben moved from his chair to the sofa cushion next to
Ray. "No I don't." He gave Ray a quick,
feather-light kiss on the lips. "I see you perfectly
well."
He began gently stroking Ray's face with his
fingertips, and Ray shivered. "You're beautiful, Ray.
You're sexy and beautiful; and I must say that I am
very, very, glad that those glasses don't diminish the
color of your eyes."
He traced a finger lightly over the frame of Ray's
glasses, then lifted them gently from Ray's face. Ben
carefully folded the glasses and placed them in their
case on the coffee table.
"So if you like my glasses so much, why are you taking
them off me?"
"Well Ray, I wouldn't want them to get bent or broken
on the first night you have them."
Ray grabbed Benny and pressed him into the back of the
couch, kissing him thoroughly. Ben lay back, enjoying
the kiss for awhile, then he struggled to a sitting
position, pushing Ray away.
"Benny? What?" Ray gasped.
Ben pushed himself off the couch and dropped to his
knees, turning around to face Ray. He grabbed Ray
under his knees and pulled him forward until Ray was
seated at the edge of the cushion.
"Benny," Ray said with a smile.
Ben looked up and returned the smile, a spark in his
usually calm blue eyes. Without a word, he opened
Ray's belt, then unbuttoned and unzipped his pants.
Ray lifted his hips off the sofa and helped Ben push
his pants down. Benny let the pants lie pooled at
Ray's ankles and pushed his legs apart.
Ray was panting slightly now, aroused by the sight of
a fierce and forceful Benny. Ben took Ray's cock into
his hand and started pumping and stroking it very
lightly. It took almost no time at all for Ray's cock
to harden almost unbearably, and Ben smiled.
He bent forward and took Ray's cock into his mouth and
began sucking it, running his tongue over it as he did
so.
Ray leaned his head back against the back of the sofa,
breathing in ragged, delighted gasps. Benny's hands
were clutching his hips, but suddenly they were gone.
Ray heard the sound of a zipper and lifted his head to
look down at Benny. He was just in time to see Ben
push his pants and underwear down and take his cock
into his hand.
Ben's left arm wrapped around Ray's waist, and Ray dug
one hand into Benny's hair and the other into the sofa
cushion.
Suddenly, the world exploded into a burst of white
light, and Ray slumped limply against the back of the
sofa. He felt his cock slip from Benny's mouth and
moaned softly in disappointment.
Ray dimly heard Fraser cry out, and then Benny was
draped over his lap, his face pressed into Ray's
thigh.
Eventually Ray found strength enough to move his arm,
and he started stroking Ben's hair. "Benny?"
Ben lifted up his head to look at him, and Ray's heart
clenched. Benny was still flushed and his eyes were a
bright, clear blue; love and satisfaction both
visible. "Yes, Ray?"
"Thank you for making me go to the eye doctor."
