Girl Scouts of the USA are trying to involve all cultures in their troops, such as the Indian culture. Recently the troops went on a trip to visit 40 different Indian tribes during their American Indian Scouting Association seminar. The mission of their trip was to bring an opportunity for Indian girls to also have the chance to join the scouts and see how they work and help. Giving these girls a chance will bring a different life style and activities to the troops. "Girls from 36 states learned the significance of tribal flags and participated in culture-sharing events and workshops, such as finger weaving, pottery making, and stomp dancing. Adults interacted in workshops to share experiences, focusing on successes in partnerships to recruit and organize in American Indian communities" (Embracing, 3). | |||||||||||
