Bo & I wanted to have a baby since the day we married. We tried for one year. I was taking my temperature, charting my ovulation, anything I could think of, I did. Then I heard that maybe some of the medication I was taking for carpel tunnel might be interfering with implantation. So I stopped the medication, and the next month I was pregnant! We found out I was pregnant before I was even late! I was sick for the next five months. We found out through an ultrasound that we were having a girl. About 6 months into the pregnancy I began to swell & swell & swell. The doctor said I had about 20 pounds of water on my body. I could hardly move I was so miserable. The doctor noticed more swelling at each visit. Also I was urinating at least every half an hour! (No exaggeration) Then comes the heart burn and high blood pressure. We went to the emergency room a few times, because the doctor said if my blood pressure went above 140/90 to go to the hospital. At the hospital they would always send us home after about 5 hours of testing. (My blood pressure would always do down when I was laying on my side) The last 5 weeks were spent taking scheduled trips to the hospital for scheduled ultrasounds, blood pressure check, and fetal monitoring. During an ultrasound, the nurse discovered that the baby was in the breech position. So at our next doctors appointment, she confirmed it and scheduled a C-section for two days from then, three days before my due date. We arrived at the hospital at 10:00am for surgery at 12 noon. Everything went smoothly except for the fact that the anesthesiologist couldn't get the spinal in the right position, because I was so swollen, and he kept hitting a nerve which shot pain down my back and legs. That was the worst pain I have ever felt in my life! He gave up and gave me an epidural instead. Which was fine. I couldn't feel a thing after that. Thank goodness!! Surgery went perfectly and he had a beautiful, healthy, 8lbs. 8oz. baby girl, Taryn Mary!!! With apgars scores of 9 & 9
