Gabrielle from Xena: Warrior Princess

Gabrielle is encased in a cangue, a Chinese instrument of torture described as a great thick board, with a hole cut in the middle about the size of a person's neck. This is fastened about the victim's throat. Since the cangue made it impossible for her to reach her hands to her mouth, she was doomed to die from lack of food and drink without some assistance.
In Gabrielle's case, the cangue was locked in place, making it impossible for her to avoid the incessant drops of water.

In an interesting twist, Gabrielle was not subjected to the water torture out of malice or sadistic delight. She had discovered the Chinese secret of making gunpowder. The water treatment was employed to erase this information from her mind.
