I saw a preview for this movie a long time ago, and it looked interesting at the least. Then, all of a sudden, it was out in theaters, there was no real movie hype, no big prime time previews that I ever saw. So when we were looking for something to do that was cheap and we saw that The Invisible was in the dollar theater, we then had a problem. Two good looking movies only one could be seen that night, we had to choose between "Gracie" and "The Invisible". Much to my distress, after much argument and pleading in favor of Gracie, we (They) decided to see "The Invisible."
Just kidding the Gracie thing became the joke of the night, and I definitely got more than enough mileage out of that one liner. But anyways we all knew we wanted to see the invisible so we bought our tickets, played some video games and went in to sit down.
Funness:
This honestly isn't one of those movies you could use the conventional meaning of "FUN" to describe. This movie is fun in another way, its fun in a way that it keeps you thinking. "What if's" and "Just tell them" moments abound in this movie, and that’s what draws you in. It has the same sort of feel to it as the movie "The Butterfly Effect" only with less nudity and profanity. And although the movie is not as good in my opinion as the butterfly effect, it’s definitely a fun watch. Every so often its fun to actually be required to think a little bit when at the movies ya know?
Quality of Production:
There weren't a lot of expensive SFX in this movie, but they did very well with what they had to do. Everything in the movie physics wise is perfect. The movie shows you what you need to see, when you need to see it, and has a couple of those, "Wow... did that just happen?" moments. All in all the QoP is very good.
Bottom Line:
The Invisible is a movie that will have you thinking "What If" all the way home.
