I really was not interested in seeing this movie in theaters, but the week beforehand my dad had asked if I would see it with him. So on the day of its release I told my dad it was out and asked him if he still wanted to see it. Now I did all of this thinking he had seen the first, because most people wont be really excited to see a sequel when they know nothing of the original film. But on the drive down to the local movie theaters, I began to realize he had not seen the first, so I asked, do you just want me to explain it to you? or should we just go rent it and see this movie some other time? He chose me explaining it, which I would later find out they do so anyways at the beginning of the movie.

My train of thought when going into this movie was hope that it would be either A: more of a gory very dark comedy like Eli Roth's "Rotten Fruit" shorts or his "Thanksgiving" preview in the movie Grindhouse. Or B: it would rely less on Sex and random Disgustingness and more on Plot.

Unfortunately I got C: where the entire movie now relies on a mixture of both Sex and Disgustingness at the same time in order to try to entertain.

Funness:

Truthfully, I think the first was better (I wasn't even a fan of the first) this movie wasn't really fun to watch.

Quality of Production:

For the amount of special effects in this movie, they were all done very, very well, almost every open wound and disembodied body part looked very real.

Bottom Line:

Hostel Part 2 is a gross, not fun way to spend 93 minutes of your life.
