I went to see RotSS (Rise of the Silver Surfer) the night it came out with my fellow website creator guy (Jim). There were also some other people there, but I've honestly seen so many movies as of late that I cannot remember which group went with us to see it.  Anyways, this was one of those movies that Had me all giddy and anticipating its release ever since October '06 when I heard about it. I would get online from time to time and watch the latest trailer (Which most of the time would consist of the same shots, just in different order and maybe some added text about the movie at the end) just hoping to see something new about the movie that would give me a hint at what all they planned to do with the story of the Silver Surfer and Galactus.

*Note* I'm very sorry if you did not realize that the arrival of the silver surfer meant that Galactus would also have to be involved in the story, If I just spoiled it for you, Sorry but go read a dang comic book.

So I had Very high expectations for  this flick. When I was told the rating for the movie would be PG, I'll admit I became a little wary, because I have seen movies that ought to be rated G, rated PG-13 for stuff like Cartoonish Violence. And so this being primarily a comic book action movie, It worried me that there would be little action. Let me tell you, don't let the PG rating fool you, this movie is better than the original.

Funness:

Wow, this movie picks you up and takes you on a nonstop, whats going to happen next, thrill ride. The comedy between Johnny storm and the thing is still there, your romance between Susan (Storm) Reid and Mr. Fantastic is still there, yet this time, they have the enormous challenge of a silvery looking alien and his master that eats planets to battle. Lets just say this movie is A LOT of fun.

Quality Of Production:

  The SFX in this movie are very, very well done. the surfer looks absolutely amazing, the fact that he literally reflects almost everything around him makes it that much more amazing. The super power sfx have been boosted, and look better than the original. All in all, this movie has A LOT of SFX, and all of them come off as looking believable.

Bottom Line:

Fantastic Four: (RotSS) is a comic book movie team up that is definitely worth the cost of admission.
