Chrissy (Ireland) (asked if she was surprised at Colin's ouster): No not at all.... its about time that he go. Now the champ was gone. But not to worry, the survivors had something new and exciting to worry about. Namely Cairo, Egypt. Cindy had a home-field advantage, and thus the option of taking the challenge or sitting it out. She chose to take it. The minigame involved everyone (had Cindy sat it out, everyone but her.) She did this knowing full well this was the start of the 3 rounds of Pure Evil I had been touting since the start of the game. The challenge was called 'Grab Bag', and it basically consisted of players running around and swiping everyone else's Safety Stones. And I felt the need to bait the closest person. This was Royann. mtvcdm: Any thoughts on who you'll be swiping from? Royann (France): oh geez, I'm not sure, I'll have to read thru the board and see if I can figure out who has some {laughing} mtvcdm: You never know. mtvcdm: I don't update during the challenge. mtvcdm: I will only reveal net results, and only after the challenge has ended. mtvcdm: Applied paranoia. mtvcdm: Fun! Royann: okay, I"ll try to see what I can do mtvcdm: Best you can do is swipe from someone you think has some stones and hope they don't do it to you. mtvcdm: Hell, for all you know, you might be fresh out of stones right now. All in all, before that there was little swiping, through Day 1. Only Andrew and Cindy took any action, with Andrew stealing 3 times, and Cindy twice. Then I got home from school on Day 2 and found chaos emanating from the Pacific Northwest. Cindy (Seattle, Washington) made her 3rd swipe, and both Steve (Portland, Oregon) and Royann (Vancouver, Canada) used up their entire 5-steal allotments. Cindy finished up. David got in later on, but Chrissy never showed up to swipe. Everyone else wound up getting all 5 steals done. Steve got on the scoreboard, while Andrew and Chrissy got off. Cindy (Egypt): I was very proud of myself in this last mini-game when I won a safety stone. I was pretty sure that I would lose them all, I was that paranoid about it. The whole time I was telling myself that I was an idiot and that 9 safety stones are fine. Of course, now that I've won a stone, I feel differently about it. I'm not looking forward to this next game, because I'm not sure about how much I'd be willing to do. This game is getting evil. She's referring to when we went on to Baghdad and everyone's favorite game (well, my favorite game, anyway) popped up: How Bad Do You Want It? Where winning never comes cheap. I'd start laying burdens on the players. At any time, they could drop out and no harm will come to them. Last one standing gets 6 Safety stones, but also every liability I name. Fun! David, Andrew and Chrissy braved running up against the Big Brother 3 finale to show up. Stephen got online too late. Not being able to post on the message board, loss of home-field advantage, no more deals or donations for the remainder of the game, and not playing in the Round 8 challenge went by with all 3 surviving. At loss of Safety Stone usage in Round 8, David dropped out, citing paranoia. Two liabilities later (must play the Round 9 minigame, can't use Safety Stones Round 9), Andrew withdrew, leaving Chrissy to take the burdens. She might have been able to trade some burdens away, but then again there was that no-trade liability on her. But being able to use Safety Stones for this round before she hit the no-fly zone, she used 4. David wasn't too happy about having to withdraw. David (Australia): Time's running out, and I still am less than halfway to my goal of 20 stones at the end of the game. Wonder if I can hit Stephen up to give me some of my stones back. And then more voting gangbeating, though this time you might be able to make a case for legitimacy. The target: Andrew Platt, who you could make a case to be the weakest (though as I saw it going down, Royann would be the one to go). Someone got confused by the ballot (click the name of the person you want gone) and voted Pat Buchanan. Actually, 2 people: one of them Stephen. The other was an audience member, whose name shall remain nameless. David had a prediction: David (Australia): Chrissy will use all 6 of her stones now, because she can't use any stones for the following two weeks. What actually happened: Chrissy used 4 stones, saving 2 for later, just in case she was still around. Andrew chimed in with his own prediction: Andrew (England): Me and someone in this game has an alliance and it is going to take us to the final 4. Wrong. In Istanbul, Turkey, some jerkwad genie dropped a giant screwdriver on Andrew and then electrocuted me. BZZZZT Ouch!
