Orlando Sentinel
Anti-Climax City
2 remain, both veterans. I knew Jon had the inside track on victory, but I had seen one person be dominant the whole way twice before, and their records were 1-1. Colin had won on Vassa Island, David had lost to Cindy Walsher in Global. So it was still up in the air. I of course had to analyze every bit of info I had throughout the game. Time once again for the Tale of the Tape.

Home-field state. Jon selected Pennsylvania. Colin had selected Rhode Island. Advantage Jon. (Pennsylvania is more likely to be chosen, even though neither was.)
Tiebreaker priority. Jon, 4th. Colin, 9th. Advantage Jon.
Total votes, post-count (too much trouble for me to go to pre-count, and I know it's advantage Jon there). Jon, 112,232 votes. Colin, 133,113 votes. Advantage Jon by 20,881 votes. Not exactly looing good for Colin.
Worst move. Colin, voting for himself each round. Jon, saving Colin from 10,000 votes in Brainerd. Advantage push.
Head to head in challenges. Jon beat Colin 6-2.
Inoculations. Colin 2, Jon 1. Advantage Colin.

So it's not looking all that good. If I kept going, it'd be more of the same.
Colin (Rhode Island): Jon and I were doing a by the numbers
mtvcdm: How'd that go?
Colin: Kinda going from cat to cat... ... I lose in just about every statistical catagory lol
mtvcdm: Like? I'm doing something similar right now.
Colin: He did Stones Won, Total Votes (once I had him do it), Head to Head thing (who finished better each round), first places...Innoculations was the only one I won in
mtvcdm: Did you find out exact numbers? ... Cause I am factoring in how close it was.
Colin: Results are hidden until polling is over. Bout damn time ... Yes... ... I remember some of em ... Head to head was 6-2 in favor of Jon ... Stones won was like 21 to 13, thats not correct but ya get the idea
mtvcdm: Inoculations, that's like 2-1, right?
Colin: Yep
mtvcdm: Noticed you actually didn't vote for yourself in Atlanta.
Colin: Complete accident ... Meant to make everyone think I wasn't then change it lol
mtvcdm: Cause I was sitting here thinking you didn't think you were all that safe, even with the stones, and didn't want to exile yourself like John did.
Colin: Eh, no. Just as dumb as always, just with a really bad idea of the time at that moment ... Was playing a game and completely forgot to change it lol ... If I had only been using 5 stones I wouldn't of voted for myself though, would be dumb
mtvcdm: I assume you plan on doing it in Orlando even if it costs you the game.
Colin: Aye, I do
mtvcdm: If it does, though...
Colin: Jon and I are working out a peace claus btw
mtvcdm: Peace clause?
Colin: Eh, no grabbing votes
mtvcdm: Think he'll be honest about it?
Colin: Of course not, but I doubt he thinks I will be either
mtvcdm: Think YOU'LL be honest about it?
Colin: We'll have to see

Even so, it wasn't looking good for Colin. Biloxi, MS was his last shot to even up the stone count, needing to beat Jon in 10 hands of Hold 'Em Poker.

He didn't. Jon now led 4 stones to 0. I'm not gonna lie to you. Jon had this game locked up. I saw no way, other than Jon completely tanking Sudden Death and not using any stones, that he could lose this game. Anti-Climax City. All 3 of us knew it. Jon was leading in performance, in stones, and Devon certainly wasn't going to be lending Colin a hand. At this point, Jon posted his file of statistics, which contained much more information than I personally had. Clips:

Main: Raleigh, NC
Jon P wins 6 (holds 6), David 5-5, Danny 4-4, Valerie 3-3, Devon 2-2, Alex 1-1

Just like the real Vegas. We all did a lot of crazy shit, and now there's no memory of it.

Exile #3, 4/7: Niagara Falls, NY
Alex is disqualified for manipulating audience votes, cheating, and being an all-around ass.
-----------------
JOHN ST. MARIA has been Exiled. John made it the furthest of any player who never won a stone. (Editor's Note: It was John St. CROIX, not maria.)
--------------
DEVON SPASMS has been Exiled. Not enough stones to save himself. Colin didn't vote for himself this time, for the first time all game.

And then, Jon engaged in a term he got from me, "statistical masturbation".

Until Colin and me, repeat players have never done as well as they did in their previous game.

Most Stones Lost in challenges: Danny 11, David 6, Jon P 5.

....yea. I barely even managed to get enough Sudden Death questions ready. Let's just get on with it.

Colin never showed up. Postponed for the next night. Jon was late getting in. Colin needed that. He was getting cronies to vote- something he hadn't done all game- and needed time to get them coordinated. He had until the end of Sudden Death. Could he do it? While he tried, I went about my business of interrogation...

*At what point, if any, has the thought gone through your mind, "I'm not gonna win this game"?
ph_mole (Colin, RI): At the point when I lost that last poker hand, never before really, I knew I'd be final 2 and THOUGHT I'd have a shot at winning it.
jonpin85 (Jon, PA): When you decided to be a sonofabitch and let Heidi into the game.
--------------
*What was your stupidest move during the course of the game?
jonpin85: I think I'll have an even better to answer with this, but I have to say my behavior before Exile #2. I was taking the game too seriously, and that combined with mistyping resulted in Andrew quitting. That lost me a few friends in the game and a lot of them outside of it.
ph_mole: Stupidest? I bet most would say voting for myself every round and tacking on another 1000 votes each round....But I'd argue and say that it was not spending just a bit more time on the challenges and getting maybe 2 more stones...The redistribution challenge killed me early on and it carried to the end of the game.
------------------
*Devon to Jon (All 3 were asked to pose questions to finalists; 3rd place gets both questions asked, the finalists then get their questions to each other asked): What was the most memorable moment in the game for you?
Bainbridge Island, WA when i was thisclose to getting fucked over again
---------------
*Devon to Colin: What inspired you to viciously take down Alex by manipulating audience votes in the fashion that of
a bastard? (Editor's note: Note the difference in tone between these questions. Now try to figure out who Devon was rooting for to win. Go on, I'll even give you a free guess.)
Ummm what inspired me would be his racial slurs and attacks on myself and the other players. As well as the insultion of minorities and sexes alike. He attacked people who were innocent and didn't deserve any of that.

And the one question that had been on my mind for 3 months, but never thought to ask...

Jon to Colin: Don't you think it's just a little cocky to give yourself 1000 extra votes each round?
ph_mole: Hahaha, Perhaps just a little bit cocky...Some would say just plain stupid...I do it because I am easily amused and seeing my own name under the votes for my death really get some laughter out of me...I mean, think about it.

So, did Colin do enough manipulating of audience votes in the fashion that of a bastard to win?

mtvcdm: Welcome to Orlando, Florida. We are live at the top of the Epcot Center, and there is a huge crowd on hand, waiting to see who's coming down with $2 million, and who's gonna stay up here to rot.
jonpin85 (Jon, PA): [playing the 24/7 sound files we got at the beginning of the game] (Editor's Note: I do that. I find something off of vgmusic.com to act as the season's theme to play over opening credits, as if it were a TV show, and send it to all contestants.)
ph_mole: HEre we go, gl
jonpin85: good luck
ph_mole: Rotting on the epcot center...Fun
mtvcdm: We have the toals, and all we have to do is annoucne them. ... Who'd like to go first?
jonpin85: Colin
ph_mole: Myself
mtvcdm: Colin Fogle. ... 62,581 votes, plus 1 audience vote, totals 63,581 votes.
ph_mole: Wow ... Was aiming more 50k
mtvcdm: Jon Pinyan.
jonpin85: yesssss?
ph_mole: 34,259 ... lol
den4f (den4f) joined the room
mtvcdm: 50,692 votes, plus 9 audience votes, equals 59,692 votes. Minus 4 safety Stones, comes to 35,815 votes. ... Colin Fogle, you are exiled. jon Pinyan, you have won.
ph_mole: My god am I good or what? lmao
jonpin85: YEAH
ph_mole: Congrats dude
jonpin85: congratulations on making it this far colin ... Thank you, America!
ph_mole: Thanks man ... I'd like to announce my retirement from the 24/7 casting now
mtvcdm: (Jon and Aaron airlifted to ground, crowd streams onto the stage, check awarded)
jonpin85: good thing, Colin ... seeing as how you are dead
ph_mole: Eh, first time in 3 seasons ... lol
mtvcdm: We'd like to thank everyone for playing. For all of us here in Orlando, our San Francisco operatives, and everyone at Fox, I'm Aaron Allermann saying "Play like your life depends on it-- because it just might." Good night from Orlando.
ph_mole: 2nd time I just got lost
jonpin85: true i remember ... you've been at every finale
ph_mole: Yep ... A celebrate now, I can get my private jet to airlift me off the apcot center lol
-----------------
[Gets to the microphone] "I'd like to thank my parents for actually getting me a decent computer and not bothering me for spending hours on end on it. I'm thanking Sam and Gian at the Academy for coming up with N-O-N-Re-P-Re-Se-N-Ta-Ti-O-N-Al-I-Sm, Darren for his work on Fallen Comrades, Jess for laughing at me the whole time, and Chris Howard for not once getting off his ass and voting. Thank you Aaron for letting me back in, and Alex for burning in hell."

1 contestant, 0 rounds. See you in San Francisco when I decide to get off my ass and actually, you know, finish setting it up. Hey, I got college to worry about here.
Home... (Where my thought's escapin', home, where the music's playin', home, where my love lies waitin' silently for me...)
