THIS STORY WILL NOT BE CONTINUED!!!
This story was discontinued due to excessive complexity. It has been
broken into two stories: Miko, and an as yet unnamed story where Akane
& Ranma suddenly find themselves married. This is the last episode I
will write on this story.

For reasons beyond my understanding this is written as a script for a
radio show.

Married, Too
A Ranma 1/2 Fanfic by Tom Wrensch
Draft 1999-03-19
=================================

[Ranma is walking down the street in a fairly bad part of town:
Background is a mixture of walking footsteps, running footsteps, and
traffic noise.]

RANMA: (thinking) Man this is a pretty bad part of town. A woman like
Miss Yamada must have to be pretty careful around here.

[Ranma walks up some metal starts, then down a wood floor for a short
time, then stops.]

RANMA: (thinking) Here's the apartment. Hope she's home.

[Ranma knocks on the door.]

MIKO: (from inside) Yes?

RANMA: It's Ranma Saotome.

[Door opens.]

MIKO: Ranma, you came. What...what did he say?

RANMA: He wrote you this letter.

[Miko rips open the envelope and reads for a few seconds.]

MIKO: (Whispered) He wants me to marry him.

[Miko falls to her knees in shock.]

RANMA: (thinking) Wow, she looks good in regular cloths too, but she's
older than I thought. Maybe it's not so wierd that she wants to marry
Mr. Tendo.

RANMA: (aloud) Uh...Mr Tendo asked me to escort you to the dojo, and
after seeing the neighborhood I think that's a really good idea.

MIKO: I know, but Ican't afford anything more than ths tiny place, even
in this neiborhood.

RANMA: You'll like the dojo, it's pretty big and has a really nice
yard, though it needs some repair work.

MIKO: That's right, if I agree to get married today I'll never have to
come back here again!

[Miko opens her closet and drawers and starts dumping her cloths and
things into a rucksack and suitcase.]

RANMA: Uh, what's going on?

MIKO: Oh! I'm sorry. Soun want's to marry me! (sighs) I can either join
his daughter Akane and... you?

RANMA: 'fraid so.

MIKO: ...today or we can set up something more formal in a few months.

RANMA: And?

MIKO: Today! Im not spending another minute in this mouse hole if I can
help it.

[Miko suddenly stops packing.]

MIKO: Oh dear. I'm not being very polite am I? This is your wedding I'm
barging in on...Would you rather Soun and I waited?

RANMA: (smiling) It's not a problem. This isn't really our wedding
anyway, we're kinda already married.

MIKO: Huh?

RANMA: It's a long story.

MIKO: Why don't you tell me while I pack?

* * * *

[Ranma and Miko are walking down the street. Ranma is carrying the
Rucksack on his back and the suitcase]

MIKO: So you actually had your wedding when you were four?

RANMA: Yeah, pretty silly huh? But Akane's mom wanted to see us get
married before she died.

MIKO: I hope Akane and Nabiki don't think I'm trying to take their
mothers place.

RANMA: Akane's not like that. I really don't know what Nabiki's gonna
think. Say, aren't you worried about Kasumi?

MIKO: (small laugh) No, Kasumi will be very happy to have me around.

RANMA: Huh?

MIKO: Kasumi and I understand each other. She'll be happy to have me
around. You'll see what I mean.

RANMA: Okay, if you say so mother-in-law.

MIKO: Oh, I guess I will be your mother-in-law.

[Miko and Ranma walk together in silence for a bit].

MIKO: (worried) Ranma? You and Akane aren't planning on children
anytime soon, are you?

RANMA: No way!

MIKO: (relieved) Good, I'm not ready to be a grandmother yet. Not even
a step-grandmother.

RANMA: (laughing) You're way to cute to be a grandmother.

MIKO: (laughing) Ranma, it's not nice to hit on your mother-in-law.

[Sound of a bicycle bell, (driven by our favorite Amazon)].

SHAMPOO: (sounding angry) Nihou arien. What you doing?

RANMA: What do you want Shampoo?

SHAMPOO: Why Shampoo not invited to party?

RANMA: What party?

SHAMPOO: Tendo girls buy party things, in big hurry today. Also buy red
and white silk. Arean not planning anything stupid is he? Not smart to
cross Chinese Amazons.

MIKO: You're a Chinese Amazon? Let me guess, Ranma defeated you in
combat.

SHAMPOO: Yes. Now Ranma Shampoo husband.

MIKO: Wow, I didn't think even as backward a culture as the Chinese
Amazons would keep such archaic outmating customs.

SHAMPOO: Huh?

RANMA: Huh?

MIKO: Oh, sorry. My degree is in Anthropology. Not very useful for
getting a job, but wonderful for trivia.

SHAMPOO: Arien answer. What party for!

RANMA: Uhh...

MIKO: It's a wedding of course.

RANMA: Oh-oh.

MIKO: (cutsy voice) Oh, I'm finally going to marry my wonderful
Soun-chan. I can't wait!

SHAMPOO: You marry volient girls father?

MIKO: Oh yes! Isn't it wonderful?

SHAMPOO: Oh. Shampoo sorry. She think...

RANMA: It's okay Shampoo, but we gotta go now.

SHAMPOO: Bye-bye arien.

[Shampoo rides off at high speeds.]

RANMA: (relieved) Thanks.

MIKO: No problem Ranma, family's got to stick together, right?

[ === Comercial Break ===]

RANMA: Here we are.

MIKO: Oh look, Kasumi is out front. (Yelling) Kasumi!

[Miko runs up to Kasumi.]

MIKO: Kasumi! He finally asked.

KASUMI: Miko, I'm so happy for you!

MIKO: And what about yourself?

KASUMI: You know what I want. But don't worry, I can wait until after
the honeymoon.

KASUMI: Daddy's waiting for you inside.

MIKO: Oh! How do I look?

KASUMI: You look find. Now go talk to your groom, then head up to my
room. Mrs. Saotome will help fit your weddin Kimino. I think she also
wants to give you the 'bride talk'.

MIKO: At my age?

KASUMI: She had so much time giving it to Akane I just couldn't get
myself to say anything.

MIKO: (giggling) Okay, I guess I might learn something. (deep breath)
Ranma, will you escort me inside?

RANMA: Sure.
