Melvin Mora had 2 base hits as the Cleveland Indians defeated the Detroit
Tigers in 11 innings by a score of 4 to 3 at Jacobs Field.
The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings. Cleveland won it in the 11th
inning. After an out was recorded, Luis Castillo laced a base-hit. Jack
Wilson next to the plate and he delivered a one-base hit. Michael Cuddyer
was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. Dmitri Young followed
and he was hit by a pitch. Jeffrey Hammonds came to the plate and drew a
walk giving Cleveland the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.
Cleveland had a total of 11 hits for the game.
Rodrigo Lopez(1-1) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. T.J.
Tucker(1-1) took the loss in relief. He pitched 3 and 1/3 innings allowing 4
hits and no walks.
