=============================
"Sheriff, is there any good places to stay around
here?"
As her partner got directions to the nearest motel, Special Agent
Dana
Scully went through the evidence and notes they had made through
out the
day. They were investigating even more strange occurrences, in
yet another
small town in rural America. She jumped slightly when the car
door opened
and her partner climbed behind the wheel.
"Ready for another Roach Coach Motel?"
She smiled.
"Do I have a choice?"
He smiled at that and responded, "Not unless you plan to
sleep in the car."
He started the engine and drove to the local motel. When they
arrived they
exchanged a look. The parking lot was packed.
They wondered into the lobby to inquire about rooms.
"Lucky you arrived when you did, sir. We have only one room
left. You and
the misses should be comfortable."
"Did you say there is only ONE room?"
"Yes ma'am."
Mulder and Scully exchanged yet another look. His was filled with
humor,
hers with skepticism. They were both thinking of the time they
were forced
to share a room after a cow fell through Mulder's ceiling. Scully
turned
back to the man behind the counter.
"Sir, we are not married, we are FBI agents. Can you atleast
get us a cot to
put in the room?"
"No ma'am. All of those are used too."
Scully sighed as Mulder took over.
"That's OK. We will work it out."
After the papers were signed and key exchanged the two agents
made their way
to their room.
"What is so exciting about this town that would cause all
the rooms to be
filled?"
"I don't know."
Mulder opened the door and Scully stepped inside.
"Charming."
The room was decorated in solid brown. Brown walls, brown carpet
and a brown
bed spread on the double bed.
"It could be worse."
Scully turned to look at Mulder, arching and eyebrow.
"How?"
"We could be sleeping in the car."
==========
1 Hour Later
Scully came from the bathroom to find Mulder comfortably situated
on the
bed, flipping through the four stations that the TV received.
"OK, how are we going to work this?"
Mulder flipped the TV off.
"Come on Scully. We are two adults. We have known each other
for, how long?
Six years? I think we can share a bed for one night."
"I guess you're right."
"Of course I'm right. When am I wrong?"
Scully arched an eyebrow. Mulder smiled.
"Seriously though. Will you come over here? You can trust
me."
"I do trust you Mulder. It's not that. I do trust you."
This time Mulder arched an eyebrow. Scully came over to the bed
and slid
between the sheets. Mulder followed suit after shutting out the
lights.
"Night Mulder."
"Night Scully."
They were both exhausted and fell asleep with in moments.

30 Minutes Later
*thud*
Scully woke up with a pain in her back. She looked around to get
her
barrings. It didn't take long to figure out what had happened.
She'd fallen
off the bed.
'How embarrassing,' she thought to herself.
She stood up slowly and surveyed the situation. Mulder had rolled
over and
pushed her off the bed. He still slept soundly - diagonally on
the bed. He
had successfully taken up the whole bed.
'For someone who usually sleeps on a couch, he sure is a rough
sleeper,' she
mused.
She debated waking him, but she couldn't bring herself to do it.
He seemed
so peaceful. He was completely unaware of what he had just done
to his
partner. She sighed and looked around the room.
She went and grabbed her robe and the suit she'd worn the day
before. She
rolled them up together to make a pillow. She gently pulled the
brown
comforter from the bed. She situated herself on the floor, using
her clothes
as a pillow. After trying to find a comfortable position for an
hour, she
finally drifted off to sleep.

The Next Morning
"Scully?"
Mulder looked around from his place on the bed. Scully was no
where to be
found.
'Strange,' he thought. He sat up in the bed and propped himself
up on the
headboard. He looked around the drab room. He noticed the
comforter on the
floor.
'That wasn't there last night,' he thought to himself.
He slid down and rolled to the edge of the bed and peered over.
What he saw
was a sleeping Scully. She didn't look very comfortable. He
smiled
sheepishly and reached down to wake her.
She slowly woke up and turned to peer at the grinning Mulder.
"Laugh it up Spooky."
"I'm sorry, Scully, but you look so pitiful down there. What
happened? I
thought you said you trusted me."
"Yeah I trusted you all right. I shouldn't have trusted you
not to push me
out of bed."
"Pushed you out of bed? Me?"
"No, the little green men. Yes you."
"Oh Scully, I'm so sorry!"
She waved her hand at him as she slowly stood from her place on
the floor.
"No really, Scully. Why didn't you wake me?"
She waved her hand again, but he pressed on.
"Scully?"
"Mulder, just promise me that next time we share a bed, that
we do it a bit
more. . ."
"Organized?"
"Well, I was going to say careful, but that works too."
"It's a deal."
She turned toward the bathroom mumbling to herself.
"Kick me out of bed, I swear. I oughta. . ."
END
Hope you enjoyed it. Feed back is always welcome. The kicking out
of bed
part happened to my sister-in-law. She ended up using a pile of
blue jeans
as a pillow and didn't have a blanket. We all laughed so hard at
her
predicament as she told the story. I just had to attempt to write
a fan fic
from it.
