Is my Granny's Purple a child of William A Setchell? In researching my iris, William caught my eye. Although it's definitely not the same, Granny's purple has enough of his charactericstics to make me think this is the right line. Researching William A Setchell has almost convinced me of that fact after learning of his growing characteristics.
I found William A. Setchell growing in Argyle Acres near Denton, Tx. There is no doubt her William A. Setchell and my Granny's Purple are one and the same. The picture above of W.A.S. looks like a different iris. But then none of my pictures of Granny's Purple look exactly alike. Pictures can be very deceiving.
