Jessica's Spring Getaway trip

I signed up for this back in November and I couldn’t wait for this event. Towards the end I was counting days and hours. I had a blast last time and I was not disappointed this time either. Hugs to M2B (Dixie) and Sisbecca (Becca) for hosting such a lovely event.

I left San Antonio at 3:50 am, with no sleep. I drove to just south of McAlester OK and had to pull over to eat and drink something with sugar in it. I got to the big rest area before 412 turns into the turnpike and called Michee, told her where I was at and she was really surprised, she wasn’t expecting me till 5pm. Well I got to I540 and went the wrong way and got corrected and made it to Kohl’s at 3:30. She didn’t recognize me and was getting ready to ask me to borrow my phone and I said, hey there you are. She remembered my voice and then we hugged. I told her I was tired and we started on the way home but had to meet someone at the beauty shop first. We left there and went to another shop; I stayed outside and rested my eyes a bit. I met Charlene from NC and she was telling me about the problems she has been having with her wife. Well her wife calls Michee and they talked for over an hour, almost 2 hours and while we were at this fashion outlet place and I had to go in and take a look. I bought a pair of earrings for myself and a pair for Sylvia. When she got off the phone I told Michee, I have got to go lay down or I won’t be able to drive anymore. So we went to the house that Michee rented for all of us. It was a gorgeous house. 3 bedrooms, large living room and a large kitchen, formal dining room and the dining room in the same area as the kitchen. 2 of the bedrooms were downstairs and the master room had a large closet and plenty of shelves. It also had 2 fireplaces, a large deck outside overlooking the lake and a 2 car garage. I laid down for 2 hours and 2 of the guys went down there to wake me up and I even had a good conversation with them. They went back upstairs but I didn’t go with them. Michee practically had to jump on me to wake me up. I went up there and her friends were there. I met Jessica, one of the daughters, Jessie and her mother Debbie. I met one of the aunts and a rep from Salad Master named Kent. We had a wonderful dinner that the cookware made with no grease or water and even had a vegetable cake that was awesome. Of course we had a fashion show too and I even tried on several of my outfits. Jessie let me borrow a pair of mid heel strappy sandals that went well with one of my outfits. I promised to bring them back. Michee pulled me aside and called me a bitch saying that her friends have never let her borrow anything and her I am only here for a few hours and I get to borrow some shoes. Hehe, I still love you Michee. We went to bed about 2 and got up at 8:30 for the trip to the salon.

I never had a pedicure or manicure done so I enjoyed myself while Lei lei did both my fingernails and toenails. I brought my own polish and some of the other women there said this pink was the color for me. Anyway I also got my wig styled too and for all that I paid $26.50 and I left $10 for the tip to both the girls that helped me look good. I went to the small waiting room to wait for Michee to get back and this other female customer sat down and we had a good chat about their services and prices. Now I was in guy mode with my fingers and toes drying, a styled wig on but no makeup and she still asked me several questions. I answered as best as I could and even told her that these were my fingernails and her jaw about hit the ground. I love seeing that reaction on people’s faces.

Well we left there and went back to the house to get ready to go to Eureka Springs. This realtor decided to bring some people over to see the house we were staying in and I wasn’t dressed. They were insistent on seeing the room I was in and they had even told us that they had a 3 pm appointment time. It was 1pm. I put on enough clothes so that I wouldn’t blind them and cleared out the room. We sat up in the living room getting ready and talking about the couple when they left. I found out later the realtor got fired from showing the property. I got the flowers in my car, finished getting ready and we headed out. We checked into our rooms and a few of the staff remembered me from last time.

Thursday night was the 50’s and 60’s party. It took me a long time to figure out that the foods they had were things that Elvis liked. They had peanut butter jelly and banana sandwiches, fried pickles, and some kind of punch. They had some ravioli type shells with marinara sauce which I ate too many of those. They gave away door prizes and I got a yellow high heel plastic shoe on a key ring. After about an hour Margo started playing the music and people were hitting the dance floor. They had a dancing contest and Wendy and Jules won. Sometime about then, Suzi showed up and told her what I had done with our room and told her I would be around. After that we went to Shaw’s and drank and listened to karaoke. Suzi went to the room and didn’t find me but she found me at Shaw’s and said she was worried. I said you know you can always find me where the alcohol is. We all laughed. M2B and Becca eventually made their way down there and when we closed the bar down we went to their room and drank. I had about 6 or 7 beers that night, then went up to their room and had 4 glasses of wine, I don’t know how I made it back to my room that night.

Friday morning came early, everyone was waiting for me to get up to get lunch and Suzi woke me up and I didn’t get out of bed so Michee jumped on me again. I was hungry but told her I didn’t want to get into Jessica mode and she said I could go eat in guy mode. I said good idea and got ready. We went to the restaurant across the street and they had reasonable prices on their food. There was 6 of us, I met Jenna that morning and all the others I had already met, Suzi, Victoria & Michee, Wendy & Jules. I had on bright pink nails and nobody said anything. It was great. Suzi brought up the fact that I had 12 dresses with me and in order to wear them all I would have to change dresses every 2 or 3 hours or so. Hehe, I wore 7, I have photos of 6 of them.

After lunch I then got showered and changed into a white flowery A-line dress and it was pretty. I went to the modeling session and saw some really pretty outfits, some I know that I could never get into. Jim answered questions so I also learned something that day. I went shopping and found a pretty black onyx and cubic zirconia bracelet and the woman that owned the shop talked to me for almost 30 minutes. She was wonderful. I walked up the street and all the way back down and all the shop keepers had beautiful stuff. I didn’t make any more purchases and went back to the hotel. I changed into a peach colored dress with darker peach flowers. I wasn’t going to wear a white dress to eat fried chicken later that night.

We had the Ozark style dinner, as I mentioned fried chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, potato salad, corn on the cob and baked beans. I hate to admit it, but I had 4 pieces of chicken. (Gosh what a piglet) I had to let my food settle before I could drink anything so we headed up to the 6th floor billiards room and watched people play pool, Suzi started playing about 9pm and sometime in that time period I did notice the boobs on the pool table.

We got a large group of us and we were going to go to Coco Cabana but the first group that got there first had some of the lesbians pitch a fit so they left. They told the rest of us to just go to Eureka live so we went there and danced. Some of our group left but 4 of us were sitting at a table near the dance floor. I got up and started dancing by myself and a few other people came out onto the dance floor also. I felt someone tug on my arm, I turned around thinking it was Michee since she had done that several times that night. I turned around and it was a guy, he gave me a kiss on the cheek and waved and then walked off. I was embarrassed and shocked at the same time. I didn’t know what to do. I just kept dancing. The girls at the table were giving me hell about it. One girl said hey look on the bright side you passed. We all laughed at that. Later that night, I met Missy and her mother, Maria they both have family in Donna, TX which is about 60 miles south of San Antonio so we exchanged emails and I even got a picture with Missy. I met up with Jules and Wendy and went to their room and sat in the hot tub as Jessica and I loved it. My feet didn’t hurt near as bad the next day either.

Saturday morning came and it was hard to get up. I think I sat around till 1, showered and got dressed in a purple sundress that I found at Ross. I went to the hotel bar and found a lot of people to talk to, even a GW who loved the dress, said the color looked good on me too. I had lunch, a grilled chicken sandwich that was good. I didn’t get to have it last time since they ran out. They call it the Spring Street chicken sandwich. I ate with Lou, who is the GW married to Samantha both from Dallas. She left when her dinners were ready and I finished eating by myself. I ran into Suzi at the bar and we went to Jim Bridge’s room and I watched him do the makeover on her. It was pretty cool.

I went back to the room and laid down for a bit, Michee came in and asked if I could do her eye makeup. I laughed at her and told her that mine looked like sh*t. She said that mine looked perfect. I laughed and before I could say anything else she said that she wouldn’t have asked me to do it if she didn’t like the way it looked. This came from a GW so I was really complimented.

I changed into a short cocktail dress, a beaded and sequined purple dress with a circle cut out on the back. I didn’t have the purple hose to go with it but the suntan ones went will with it. I got a lot of compliments on it even more so from the GW’s there. We ate dinner, I had the prime rib again and this time it was cooked the way I like it and still had good flavor. We then had a guest speaker, Gina Lance, the publisher of Girl Talk magazine and her message was to just get out and do it. She said to just dress and act natural and people won’t notice you or you will get complimented. Also remember that every time one of us goes out we represent every cross dresser and that we need to make a good presentation. I have heard this many other times and I do try to present myself in the best light possible. We went up to our rooms to change, I wore a gray velvet short dress and I got compliments with this dress too. We didn’t hang around long at the 6th floor balcony this time most of us went to Eureka Live after being up there for 30 minutes. I know I left early. I got over to the club and I was paying to get in and someone taps me on the shoulder and I hear “Jessica!” I turned around and it was Jill, the GW I met last time. We hugged and asked how we were doing and I ended up sitting next to her and we danced for a bit. They had some other friends at the Basin park hotel So they left and they came back at almost 1am. We were still partying, the waitresses were bringing drinks and of course I was running a tab. I didn’t realize until the end I had 10 beers that night. I then went back up with Michee to their room and sat in their Jacuzzi and again my feet didn’t hurt. Oh don’t forget about the time change. Hehe.

Sunday morning came and yes I was sad. It was over but I realized that I had met some new friends and hopefully could go back in October. I had a hard time recognizing people in guy mode, I helped out and wore my nametag. We had a nice brunch, said our good bye’s and rushed up to our rooms to pack up. We headed out and it was raining but we got everything in the car and took off. We went back to Michee’s house and I rested a bit then made the long drive back to San Antonio, I did make it in 10 ½ hours this time.

Thank you to everyone that made this trip a success, my girlfriend, Michee & Victoria, Dixie and Becca. Also a big hello to all the new girls that I met. Hope to see all of ya’ll in the fall.
