CHILD's PLAY

CHUCKY: Have you ever bought a doll and late at night when you are sleeping, stare at it and it seems as if it is watching you? I have. I can remember the MY BUDDY dolls, while growing up. My dad would never let me have one, because he thought little boys with dolls were not cool.

Meanwhile, Hollywood was cooking up another horror film. It was soon to be called Child's Play. The film was about a little boy who had got a good guy (a My Buddy spin off). What the boy and his mom did not know, was a mastermind criminal by the name of Charles Lee Ray, who also practiced Voo Doo, cast a spell on the doll so that his very soul would be transferred into it.

As the boy begins to bond with the doll, his mother and friends notice that he is claiming that he is talking. Then one night, the babysitter dies. As the film moves on, we learn it was indeed Chucky. While some horror fans do not even take Child's Play serious at all or Chucky, he can also be kind of funny.

Child's Play 2, later was produced and was slightly decent for a sequel in horror. In this movie, Chucky is brought back to life only to go after his long lost enemy- Andy. Chucky in this film, looks very fake compared to the good special fx used in the orignial.

Child's Play 3, would only come naturally a few years down the road after part 2. In Child's Play 3, Andy is now grown up and is in military school. Chucky is brought back to life and goes after Andy, yet one more time. The movie is kind of a draq and although the killings are decent, the movie fails.

Later in the fourth entry to the series, Bride of Chucky, we are introduced to Charles Lee Ray's widow, Tiffany. With the help of VOO DOO for Dummies, Tiffany plants her soul into the female version of a good guy. Then the fun begins!

CHILD's PLAY B+
The movie introduces us to probably the most popular short killer in horror movie history: Chucky.

CHILD'S PLAY II C
Though our favorite maniac midget is back, and the movie is entertaining, it lacks.
CHILD'S PLAY III D-
Andy is grown. Chucky is in his 50s. Maybe 40s. The movie is a sleeper. At this point, the idea of the plot and the whole concept of Chucky is beginning to become very boring...and stupid.
BRIDE OF CHUCKY B-
Though some though this movie would be another part III, it is actually entertaining and in a good way! Its focus is to be a black comedy. Chucky and his bride are hilarious.
