Well just woke up and the first thing on my mind was Halloween: Resurrection. It was decent. I think it could have been a lot better, but in the end I really liked it. But let me say, first, I think this movie will do better than we think. Maybe. I attended the midnight show and there was a line that had to be roped and looped. Of course, Halloween fanboy me, was one of the first in line.

PROS

Laurie's farewell- I must admit, when I saw the expression of pain and relieve in Laurie's eyes, I had a pain in my stomach. She was my favorite character in the whole series. To see her finally lose the battle to Michael was sad. Her whole life had been nothing, but hell because of Michael. Her lines were great, and the slow mow as it showed her falling into the dark, off the roof, was well done, indeed. The hallways shots and music that built up as Michael got closer and closer to her room gave me goosebumps.

The Music-I think this has been the best Halloween score since the orignial. The opening credits, with the help of the music, really got your blood pumping. Nice.

Brad Loree is Michael Myers- This man is the 2nd best Michael in the whole series. He performed Michael's slick turns and walks great. When the chick got trapped in the tunnel, his walk was sinster and you could just see the evil in Michael through his walk.

The Mask- People we will not get the William Shatner mask ever again. I mean 8 movies have went by and I think they would have had a chance to get it. Instead each film makes a new mask. This one, is the best since the orignial 2 films. The mask shows no emotion, but yet, its appearance is terror. I loved the shots of the mask when Michael was walking through his house and down the sanitarium hall.

Jamie Lee's performance- I have to applaud Jamie Lee Curtis for coming back. Although at times she does feel stuck-up, I mean come on, guys. If you were an actress that had good films under your belt like True Lies, you know you would not want to go back a horror movie that was the 7th sequel. I appreciate Jamie coming back for these latest 2 movies.  Jamie made an exception. The best part in the whole movie is when Jamie said "I'll see you in hell.." The look on her face and the voice of pain Jamie expressed sold the moment instantly.

RISING ACTION- The rising action, where Sara's net buddy was telling her how to get out of the house and dodging Michael was very intense and kept you on your seat. The scene where Sara and Freddy look out the window and sees that he is gone, then they turn around and BAM there he is. The audience almost tore off the roof with screams of horror in that scene.

TWO MICHAELS- Although Busta punking out Michael was not cool, the two Michael's was funny and clever. Everyone around our seating area was like "Oh my God which one is the real one?"

HOW MICHAEL SWITCHED WITH COP- Better done on screen than in writing. Nicely done. Still far fetched, but nicely done.

THE DISREGARDING OF H3, H4. H5, & H6-Yes! A lot of fans love the fact that H4-6 never exist (Me included. See webpage for details). I can accept Michael not having a good childhood over the Thorn cult bullshit they tried in H6. Although if I was Rick, I still would not put any of the child abuse idea in. But it is much more acceptable and realstic than "I kill cause of a symbol in the stars" idea.

CONS

No Loomis- It would have been interesting to see Loomis in the middle of all this webcast thing.

Poor acting- The worst actress in the world is the nurse at the beginning of the movie in the sanitarium! The white one! I did not believe one word of her. I wonder how much she got paid? I was not impressed with Busta's acting at all. Its like someone said in a earlier review, it seemed like he was READING at times and not acting.  Although, Bianca did a pretty good, except in the garage towards the end. LOL The audience and everyone laughed at her expressions and screams. I think she has Kara beat in H6, for the most overreacted scream. Also, the guy that wheeled in Michael at the end and was joking around was horrible. Was he TRYING to make us laugh?

Making Michael into Jason- Although Brad Loree IS Michael Myers, the story tried its best to make Michael into Jason. His over the top kills, the ending where he awakes. Even Michael's power was over done. The scene where he punches Busta, Busta goes flying into the other room from one of Michael's punches. Unrealstic and the word JASON flashed through my minds. Even one of the audience members from behind said "Man, Michael ain't nothing but a wannabe Jason."

THE ENDING- Michael waking up? Again, very Friday the 13thish. It was very predictable and short. It was like they rushed this ending. Although Busta and Sara's speech at the end, was interesting.

BUSTA PUNKING OUT MICHAEL- horrible horrible horrible. A rapper who can't act beats the hell out of "The most notorious killer in the world"?? I don't think so. The two Michael Myers scene was nice but Michael should have dissapeared instead of being TOLD what to do. Some could say it was just Michael being more clever himself, and waiting to REALLY get Busta later.

OVERALL- Out of all the Halloweens, this easily finishes third place, after H2 being second. It was much more entertaining than H20. H20 had a great story and idea, but in the end failed in lots of ways. I must admit though, I like Michael stalking his relatives than just random horny teenagers. Much better idea.

Conclusion

This is what you call a fun movie. Nothing too serious just a cheap roller coaster ride with Micahel being the host. Simple. There is films that try to have fun and fail miserablly (JASON X) and theres films that succeed (H8). 100 times better than putting a certain Moma's boy in space *ahem*...... Jason X makes Halloween 8 look like Citizen Kane.
