 About TSCA
 

    The Texas School Counselor Association, a division of the Texas Counseling Association and also a chartered state division of the American School Counselor Association, is the professional organization for school counselors in the State of Texas.  TSCA strives to advance the profession of school counseling in order to ensure that quality guidance and counseling services are provided to all students.

     TSCA offers many professional services for members and the work of TSCA benefits all school counselors in the State.  The TSCA newsletter, Voice of the School Counselor, is published four times a year.  TSCA sponsors an essay contest and human rights art contest for students and two $1000 scholarships are awarded to students annually.  TSCA also recognizes outstanding professional school counselors each year at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

     TSCA provides excellent professional growth and networking opportunities for school counselors.  TSCA will cosponsor the The School Counselor Legal & Ethical Summit with Huntington Learning Centers on January 13, 2003 in Dallas.  TSCA is also sponsoring a three-hour pre-conference workshop at each of the Texas Education Agency 2003 Professional Growth Conferences in Austin.  Dr. Al Milliren will present "A Brief Workshop on (Adlerian) Brief Counseling" on February 9, March 16, April 13, and May 4 prior to each TEA Conference.  (A link to the workshop information is located on the main page.)
