About Me

Seal Team Six 1984 - 1987

This is the part of my Navy career that I found the most interesting and that I am the most proud of. It's also the part that I can tell you the least about.

The following is a standard "Duties and Responsibilities" entry placed in the Evaluation Report of all support personnel assigned to ST6. It conveys the the idea that this is not your usual command.

"RATEE IS ASSIGNED AS ONE OF A FEW HIGHLY QUALIFIED SUPPORT PERSONNEL WHO PERFORM IN-RATE PROFESSIONAL DUTIES AS WELL AS SENSITIVE OUT-OF-RATE DUTIES IN SUPPORT OF A CLASSIFIED MISSION."

While at this command I served with the most unique and dedicated group of individuals I have ever had the privilege to associate with. When you're part of an organization like this, you just can't help coming off looking good. Each person is hand picked, and interviewed by a board made up of members of the command. You don't just get assigned. As the Ordnance Department Head I received a Navy Achievement Award as a direct result of the dedication and hard work of the GM's assigned to my department. What a way to end my Navy career!

On 30 April 1987 I left my last and most memorable command. I had moved my sailboat, "Airborne", a little over 50 miles up the Chesapeake Bay to a small marina on Cobbs Creek. That's where I headed.
