How it all began?

Why Barbi Na Doll?

The name coined by Mr. Albert Lozada while riding on a bus naming bands
and blurted out as a joke..

      Back in mid 90's, brothers Jasper & JB along with their drummer Benjie was in the highs of their
musical career playing in different bars around the town. Neutral Nuts was their first band and eventually
became S.O.S. and Diverse. But unluckily after several years the group disbanded due to several
misunderstandings and priorities. Early 2k's when the brothers colaborated with Gadfly playing "SKA",
while Kid came from HookaPipe a fresh band playing also ska. J.art, a friend of Jasper who's also a friend
of Kid was the one responsible and to thank of in meeting Jasper and Kid. Early 2002 when Jasper,
JB & Kid formed a group along with HookaPipes frontman singer Fritz Siason. "Strong Pistols" was formed.
They played wide variety of Punk up to Melodic-Post-Hardcore Combos. After 1 year, the group take parted.
Jasper & JB went through The Scopes. After a year and months of abscence and went on through a lot
of holes, it was a sheer fun of jamming as well as regrouping with Benjie along with Kid to form another
project. It was tasked Jasper to do the vocal chores out of substantial guts and ignoring criticisms.
The concept was all Filipino music, or sort-of a tribute band. ( Trivia: Neutral Nuts mostly played Rivermaya
and Eraserheads's Cutterpillow Album. Biggest gig ever to front for the 'Heads circa '96 in La Salle
Coliseum ) Tried to name first as "Deercharo" after a jingle bling2x on a TV Contest
( 'L' on there foreheads ) and also a TV stint as "Line All" ( slang for "Lain Ulo!" ) where Sandy G's got it's
first exposure. Then came on sleepy months of boredom writing songs & murderin' cover arrangements..
Until April 26, 2005 came. It was the birth of Barbi Na Doll, it was their first gig in FeistaMundo Jam,
played their original compositions such as " Sandy G.", " Sa Ibang Araw" & "Romantic Kills".
And with all of their efforts in persuing and striving against the situation of the local scene,
the band is gradually taking off around local bars in town.. BND believes that this is just the begining
of their great musical journey.. Abangan!
