A STUDY IN CONTEMPORARY
EVIL
by V.L.
Where does one find effective evil in our
society - within a splendidly secluded villa where lurks a Satanist with
sinister appearance and overwhelming aura of aggressive wickedness?
Or should one seek beyond the bounds of contemporary city life to find
a small but dedicated group of wild-eyed practitioners evoking ancient
powers within an unwelcoming forest? Perhaps your concept of
ultimate evil is the drug-crazed lout who murders the eighty-three year
old pensioner in her bed to obtain the few meagre pounds in her purse.
"Thankfully", you reassure yourself, "I know
none of the former and am of a robust age and physique which secures my
peace of mind regarding the latter."
As one who has crossed the path of a devotee
of evil, I share this study with the average person who may be at extreme
risk and perhaps already suffering the symptoms of a blighted life but
totally oblivious to the origins of their afflictions. A wise
sensitive said to me on one occasion: "You must realise The Devil never
comes as a raging lion."
A number of lengthy and detailed files, the
nature of which range from the apparently unfortunate, through the profoundly
tragic to the horrific, exist to offer circumstantial evidence pointing
to a bizarre situation which, to any reasonably intelligent and logical
mind, breaches the bounds of coincidence.
It leads one to the obvious conclusion that
there existed in Scotland a man who was indeed a psychic criminal, magical
sadist, black magician or whatever nomenclature is applicable, and who
willfully embraced evil - finding himself in the fortunate position of
being able to devote every waking hour he wished to his nefarious career.
(Dion Fortune, in "Applied Magic" chapter
8, informs us that there are certain types of people with a streak of cruelty
in their natures who take quite readily to the manipulation of evil for
the purpose of vengeance. Having experienced the results of
their work, they develop a lust for it for its own sake and, therefore,
become addicts of such cruelty on account of the thrill it provides.)
This man, to whom we shall refer simply as
‘X’ was such a person. He was born in 1954, leaving school
in 1969 at the age of 15 with no scholastic achievements whatsoever.
He appeared at that time as an isolate with some vague artistic bent.
Three years later, however, it became evident that he was a homosexual.
Rumours had surfaced in 1972 via friends of
his old associates that he had been the driving force behind, and the organiser
of an all-male group of the pseudo ‘witch’ variety in his early teens -
i.e. at the age of 13, the magical stirrings and motivation possibly existing
even prior to this age. This he later admitted, making no secret
that he had identified with one Alex Sanders who had appeared in low budget
films of the sensational/magical genre and whose somewhat colourful life
style had been recounted in the Sunday press, popular magazines and the
biography "King of The Witches" by June Johns.
Further anecdotes of those who had been members
of X’s unique deviant cabal detailed homosexual sex-magic and the blood
sacrifice of pigeons as part of the murky proceedings. It was
even reported that X had been magically responsible for his father’s death.
He was to admit this latter tale before witnesses in the early 1980s, rationalising
the deed by the proffered excuse that his father had been "holding up his
progress."
Certainly his parents did allow him the exclusive
use of one room in the family home as a magical temple to which they were
permitted no access. Here X had experimented in butterfly fashion
from pseudo-Egyptian magic, through Buddhist type meditations, Golden Dawn
rituals to Wicca. And it was within this temple that these
‘gay’ hobbledehoys indulged their predilections.
Having left school, however, he curtailed
these aberrations, although possibly maintaining such activities at a very
private level and cloaked in the utmost secrecy. His record
of gainful employment was scant indeed as he could not accept that self-discipline
was the sine qua non in any employee/employer relationship. In short,
his ego could not bend to the wind of accepting the many tasks which comprise
the average job specification and resignation or sacking was the usual
sequella.
From now on he worked industriously at weaving
an outward garb of respectability, appearing as a young man of mild manners
and sensitive disposition who was ever ready to give a sympathetic ear
to neighbours and acquaintances in times of adversity. Needless
to say, such instances of adversity proliferated in curious fashion.
In the early 1980s he commenced spare-time
probationary service with a lesser Christian sect with the intention of
taking minor orders therein - an ideal ‘front’ behind which to shelter.
Around this time, two married couples and
acquaintances of X had begun to analyse their respective misfortunes, surveying
the factors chronologically and in fine detail with due attention to persons
and situations which impinged upon the scenarios. They were
astounded to find a further FIVE couples who had suffered identical
problems in life and who were also connected to X.
Not only had the fortunes of each taken a
negative direction since meeting him but also had each incurred X’s displeasure
in some measure. Their researches and case-building were meticulous
and precise, starting from the logical premise of such things as health
anomalies and natural adverse economics etc., until coincidences entered
and, on account of the plethora of these, perforce were excluded.
There is a limit to the magnitude of coincidence.
A pattern emerged from these case-studies
- the female victims seem to have been afflicted mainly with uterine haemorrhages
and mental/personality disturbances of varying degrees. Some had
required hospitalisation and even radical surgery. Throughout
such histories there was a consistent progression of loss - in health,
sexuality, finances and material possessions for all male victims.
In some cases home and family were lost. Fire was frequently
on the perimeter - domestic conflagrations, destruction of cars and even
a complete dwelling house in one instance.
By now the bounds of coincidence and mathematical
probability were swept aside, especially so when details of X’s activities
in his earlier years had begun to filter through. The full
impact of his implication was then realised.
Independent consultations were to be obtained
with six reputable sensitives and mediums who confirmed that psychic violence
was the infective factor. Indeed two described the malefactor
in detail without being given identity or gender.
When the sect with which X was studying was
alerted to his questionable occult activities (X was contemporaneously
maintaining a ‘gay’ magical group in secret), investigations were initiated
which resulted in his swift expulsion from the church some months prior
to his ordination. It is interesting to note that, following
his confirmation, he had experienced psychic disturbances which he himself
described as being like frequent extrusions of the etheric body.
He had a drawn appearance of debilitation at that time and symptoms of
exhaustion and insomnia - manifestations which were witnessed by all his
acquaintances.
(Again Dion Fortune may suggest the reason
when she states in "Sane Occultism" chapter 9 that one should turn upon
evil the scorching flame of Pentecost - the flaming tongues of The Holy
Spirit. The Holy Spirit is certainly the prime mover in confirmations.)
The full fury of this individual was then
to manifest as he realised his ploys had been uncovered. Much
protective work was effected and valuable assistance given at that time
by a deep trance medium who dedicates herself and her group to counteracting
negative working. Her advice and methods of approach, which
I shall not detail without the lady’s permission, provided the necessary
breathing space, recuperation and return of inner strength vital to all
in surviving the psychic storm.
It is the belief of the writer that X deeply
and malignantly resented couples who were pair-bonded in natural heterosexual
marriages or relationships and who had normal, happy domestic lives - bearing
in mind that X was a sexual deviant and an isolate. There may
have been sexual desires and fantasies relating to some heterosexual male
victims in these instances - those who lacked the instinct to reciprocate.
As he could never be a woman or have a woman, here were the classic seeds
of envy and possibly unrequited love - the bedrock of resentment.
He also resented those who were materially
and professionally successful through years of effort, self-motivation
and self-discipline as he remained an unskilled man with no qualifications
who desperately attempted from time to time to achieve something by the
swiftest and easiest method. This course of action is usually
futile with the aims ever unattainable. Such envy may well
have been the spur to cause material troubles and hardships to his victims
thereby inflicting deprivations similar to those he foolishly believed
life had visited upon him.
In reviewing these cases, we find that all
were X’s acquaintances and had always befriended him and assisted
in various material ways as, for the greater part of his life, he had had
little friends (apart from his close circle of ‘gays’) and even less income.
Unfortunately for some, X’s wrath appeared to have been incurred for refusing
to provide certain material luxuries he craved and had cajoled them to
provide.
Although X’s methodology may be perceived
through knowledge of his background, it would be most unwise to lay this
open to general view lest others of similar ilk be offered such tools of
evil for ready use. One particular method which is not available
to the rank and file, however, may be revealed - his perversion of the
power of The Mass for malediction.
With such obvious ability for psychic/magical
working, it is unfortunate that X had not used it positively for his own
betterment and for the assistance of others. However, when
one prefers to demolish the lives of others rather than improve one’s own
to a higher standard, the mind and soul of such has been given freely to
the Dark Powers.
Let us examine the final outcome of this study.
By the mid 1990s X had become infected by HIV and had developed full-blown
AIDS. We assume, rather than suffer a lingering scenario of
progressive debilitation and infections, he took to alcohol to obliterate
his anguish and accelerate his demise. Certainly he developed
alcoholic liver disease and acute renal failure, but the essential cause
of death in 1996 was a gastro-intestinal haemorrhage.
Did hid own vampiric creations, the scourge of all his female victims,
rebound upon their maker? Perhaps we will never know.
As we are fully aware that X was but one such
manipulator of evil in a sea of many in the present age then, if we have
alerted others to such possibilities, we are happy.
The final question is: "What practical work
may be done to afford some measure of protection if one finds oneself in
a similar predicament?" Rather than becoming obsessed by such
a situation and erecting constant psychic barriers which can possibly be
eroded or becoming involved in an ongoing psychic war to one’s own detriment,
a logical solution is possible - the strengthening one’s own self to resist
such negativity.
It should be remembered that the portion of
the human mind which is the great power house of the human body is the
unconscious mind - responsible for the functioning of all bodily systems
including the breath we take and the regular cardiac rhythm which maintains
life. Although this is not the place to deal with psychic anatomy,
it should suffice to say that the various levels of the unconscious together
with the ‘soul stuff’, vital energy and the excreted atoms of human cells,
heat rays etc. form the aura - our natural barrier or defence.
The reprogramming of the unconscious mind
in such situations by hypnotherapy will prove invaluable in strengthening
the unconscious mind and consequently the aura, assisting in rendering
the individual impervious to many evil vortices of power. This, then, is
an initial method that one may adopt - taking some personal responsibility
for creating a clean space which may be the first line of defence.
We were indeed grateful for the advice of Dr. Pengwerin regarding this
method and his practical, clinical assistance.
May the Blessings of Spirit keep you free
of such misfortune or, if you are already suffering such negative manipulation
of your life, may you find swift assistance and release.
Although the above involved assistance from those
who follow the 'Science of Spirit' and with whom Victor L. has retained
a firm link, I feel the content merits its inclusion in this website.
