Joshua's entire body is covered in a chitinous light brown exoskeleton and short dark hairs. His eyes are irridescent green, lidless and have the look of spider eyes save that they are teardrop shaped and there are only two of them.

Background:

Born and raised in the suburbs, Joshua was obviously a mutant from birth. He grew up in a loving and supportive home but due to his frightening appearance he was forced to live a fairly solitary life. He was home schooled and had no friends and over time his forced solitude made him bitter about his mutancy. Despite the love and support of his parents Joshua was angered by the mutant prejudice of the rest of the world. With talks of mutant registration and segregation Joshua left home for Delos Major and the utopia offered there.

Superhuman Abilities/Mutant Abilities/Extraordinary Abilities:

Recluse's mutant abilities are those normally associated with spiders. He can climb or cling to any surface be it vertical or inverted, leap up to 60 feet either vertically or horizontally from a standing position (half again as much with a running start) and can lift/press 5 tons in peak condition.
He is also able to generate silk via tiny spinerettes located at the corners of his mouth and the inner elbows. This allows him to create lines of silk stronger than steel cable as well as spit masses of sticky webbing. Additionally his exoskeleton acts as a form of natural armor protecting him from injury. The short dark hairs covering his body pick up on vibrations in the air effectively giving him a sixth sense. (Not unlike the classic "Spidey Sense")
Finally, Recluse has short curved claws rather than fingernails. These claws are extremely strong and sharp and can be used as weapons in battle. At will Recluse can release a toxic venom from his claws. The venom is not lethal rather it causes instant dizziness and nausea. The resultant wounds form as ulcerous sores that are slow to heal.
