Background:

Born to a prosperous logging family, William lived happily throughout his early years. That all changed when he came down with a terrible illness in his early teens. The first symptom was a problem with William's stomach. It refused all solid food. His parents originally thought that he was bulemic, however, they soon saw first hand how he puked it out, completely undigested. Quickly William was sent to a specialist. Tests showed that his stomach had shut down, and on top of that, his blood contained high levels of what seemed be chlorophyll. Over the months, his skin and hair began shifting to a greener tint. The other families in the community refused to let him be near their kids. Their children weren't any better. They enjoyed throwing rocks at William whenever he walked by their houses. Of course, the worse part came soon after William fainted on a trip to see his dad at the lumber mill. At the hospital that evening, the doctor asked him how he felt. The young man turned to her and said three simple words, "Pain and anger." A week later, William ran away. Just a day after his disappearance, a logging truck missed the road to the logging village. It took them a week to work through a mile of heavy foliage, only to find even more undergrowth. The town, the lumber mill, and William Locke had all disappeared without a trace. Over the last year, William has been a member of the Crimson Shadow, learning to control his powers to an ever greater degree. Before their leap into the new world, William had obtained a total bond with the earth's plant life, which was violently severed as that world ceased to exist. Now, still with the Crimson Shadow, William is helping to pave a new face into a world that has abandoned him, both in its people and in its plants.
