In 1999, four mutants whose abilities made them outcasts from the rest of society were recruited by the United States Government for a team known only as the Cadre. A non-political division of the National Security Agency, the Cadre is a counter-terrorist unit created to help mutants use their natural talents to stop the wave of human and super powered terrorists that have cropped up since World War II. Under the advisement of Doctor Boliver Trask, the Cadre operates to preserve life, freedom and peace by any means necessary. |
