So Jimmy has stringy, greasy hair does he? Find out why he does and read about the riders' health and hygiene issues.

I had feared it might come to this. So now I am here to give you all a lesson in hygiene of the pre-civil war era.
As hard as it is to believe, in times before our own, there were no such items as Pert Plus, or even Vidal Sassoon. As much as Thompkins' store provided the every day common good, he didn't have a good supply of Suave, or even the much needed, Aussie Hair Insurance, which as we all can agree that Jimmy definitely needed for his tangles and occasional split ends. But alas, poor Jimmy had to go without the Aussie Hair Care line, but he still had an awesome head of hair. Kid, who knows, but with that hair, he probably would have had to use Salon Selectives so he could mix and match for the different moods his hair was going through. It really works form the short and sassy to the longer afro with matching sideburns look.
There wasn't any Herbal Essences to give Lou that totally organic experience after a hard day on a ride. Head and Shoulders wasn't there for Teaspoon, (and I hate to talk about the dear old man, but I saw him dust off his shoulder from time to time.) You know Emma could have definitely benefited from a little V05 Hot Oil Treatment every 4 – 6 weeks to help out that friz.
As for Buck, I don't see him falling into the hype around name brands. He probably would have had his shampoo specially made from a Shaman or a medicine woman who had an understanding of certain ingredients from the earth. As much as that beautiful black mane of his seemed to shine in the sun, I'm sure he had an occasional problem with dry, brittle ends, and berry extracts and oils could have helped him keep that under control. Cody was definitely a Color Vive by Loreal type of guy. How else could he keep that beautiful long blonde? Rachel, on the other hand? Now, I'm no expert, but can we say Mrs. Clairol??? I can't say from experience, but I have doubts as to if the carpet matched the drapes.
Let's see, who else? Sam was a wash&go type of guy, so he would have chosen a shampoo + conditioner—Pert Plus would have done the trick and works well when you lack the time to blow-dry. Jesse, he was a young and going through that awkward stage of life. You know, dry & brittle one minute, then oily and unmanageable the next. He definitely would have benefited from Vidal Sassoon shampoo for oily hair with a separate conditioner to make his hair more manageable.
But now we get down to the final two that are as different as night and day. Noah wouldn't have had much selection to choose from back in the day, but if he had some Afrosheen, do you have any doubt that he wouldn't have been the biggest mac daddy of them all. Alas, poor Ike. Bald, but not forgotten. I imagine the best bet for him would to have used a little baby oil on his head to give him that clean, irresistible shine.
So, I just don't see what all this arguing is about regarding who and who didn't wash their hair. I'm sure they all washed their hair. But they just didn't have the right styling aids to benefit each individual hair need.
Does anyone get what I'm saying here? Why is there so much concern about shampoo. Personally, I'm a little worried when I think about the fact that Right Guard hadn't been invented yet.
As far as teeth go, (as someone oddly mentioned), you have to admit that none of them have bad choppers. And that is nothing short of a miracle considering they were without Aquafresh, Colgate, Crest, Listerine and dental floss. So, Jimmy had that one little problem with an impacted molar. But realistically, it was probably a wisdom tooth coming in. They were all supposed to be about 18 years old anyway.
But that's my beef for now. I'd love to chat some more, but I have a chapter to finish up and I'm way behind on my daily drooling over Jimmy.
