WILD BILL

I saw a handsome stranger
A gunman called him out
I could smell the danger
The scent of death no doubt

"You killed my brother," the drunkard cried
"And now I must kill you."
The stranger approached with a cowboy's stride
What else was he to do?

The stranger had the quicker draw
The drunkard fell down dead
The loser in a two-man war
The ground was stained with red

I watched the stranger as he walked away
His face was so forlorn
"That's Wild Bill," I heard them say
"The fastest gun ever born."

CODY

He has to roam the trails alone
It gives him time to think
The sky becomes a pinkish tone
As the sun begins to sink

He finds a place to rest his head
Though he sometimes sleeps outdoors
And after Cody had been fed
He likes to keep with whores

For it's company you see
That keeps the young man sane
He likes to do it vis-a-vis*
Before the sun comes up again

*Note: Vis a vis is pronounced 'Vee ah vee'.
It is a French expression that literally means
face-to-face. It can be used as an adverb,
although it has several other nominal meanings.

PARADOXICAL JIMMY

Shy but brave
Vulnerable yet strong
Fierce but gentle
Peaceful yet violent
Caring but withdrawn
Handsome yet rough
A boy but a man

Passionate yet scared
Loyal but lonely
Perfect yet flawed
Dangerous but enticing
Wrathful yet fair
Hurting but living
A legend yet doomed
