Stephen Baldwin Biographies - Seasons 2 and 3
Stephen Baldwin portrays the comical and carefree William (Buffalo Bill) Cody as a young man, before becomes legend of yesteryear in MGM/UA's Emmy Award and Western Heritage Awardwinning ABC series "The Young Riders." The overly self-confident, yet undeniably saavy Cody is quick with a joke or wild scheme and possesses an uncanny marksman's eye.
"Cody is a paradox of a whimsical clown and a shrewd young man. He takes himself very seriously, but not too much to not accept his own theatricality with a sense of humor. He is brave, light-hearted and often exaggerates wildly. Cody is a charmer and a con-man and rather unpredictable, but he is much too clever to be reckless", states Baldwin.
Raised in Massapequa, Long Island, Baldwin is the youngest of four brothers (all actors) and two sisters. His naturally outgoing and charismatic personality lead him to discover acting while in high school, where he was "a cutup and a ham". Further inspired by the success of his older brother Alec, he began to seriously pursue acting and enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He also studied his craft at the Herbert Berghof Studio.
Baldwin's first off-Broadway theatre role was a part in, "Out in America" co-starring Darryl Hannah. His television credits include: the PBS specials "The Prodigious Hickey", "The Return of Hickey" and "The Beginning of the Firm"; the recent ABC television movie "Jury Duty" with Heather Locklear; and guest star roles on "Family Ties," "China Beach," "Kate and Allie" and "Kate O'Brien". His film credits include roles in "Last Exit to Brooklyn," "The Beast," "Homeboy" with Mickey Rourke and Oliver Stone's "Born on the Fourth of July," with Tom Cruise.
