Introduction

Welcome to THE LAIR, your forum for unconventional 'Young Riders' stories and poetry. The URL is pretty easy to remember http://www.theyoungriders.com. This site is a smorgasbord of new ideas and creativity. The success of ‘Bedtime Stories’ and other disparate sites proves that there is an audience out there who want to read different types of Young Riders fan fiction. Although THE LAIR contains adult content, it is by no means an exclusively adult site. It is also the home for crossovers, poetry, and 'unconventional relationship' stories. Some content is R rated and only suitable for adults.

For the children: If you think your parents would kill you for looking at this stuff, go away now and come back in a few years.

For the adults: This site is very broad-minded so if you aren't, I don't think you should go any further. Why not try one of the other 50+ Young Riders sites? Since there are many, many warnings throughout this site, I can only assume you have read the fiction because you wanted to so I don't expect any flaming/hate mail.

OK, now that the serious stuff is out of the way. I just want to tell you that I made this site to amuse myself and to house some of my odd stories. I also hope that this site will become a cool TYR slash page. Please feel free to send in any work you have hidden away or stuff that you haven't dared write yet.

Not at all, I like to read good adult stories but this site is also the home for anything out of the ordinary or experimental. Stuff that you feel doesn’t belong on other TYR sites. If you want Jake Colter to date Rachel, start writing. If you want to write a story incorporating poetry, prose, and pictures, go ahead. If you want to write a smutty story about Buck and Ike in a homosexual relationship, don't hesitate. I wrote a story about Jimmy kneading dough with his gloves on so there!

Yes, I'd love to read TYR crossovers. Some suggestions include: Sci-Fi, "Buffy - The Vampire Slayer", "Angel", "The X-Files", "Sliders", "Quantum Leap" etc. I would also like to read ‘Magnificent 7/TYR or Dr. Quinn/TYR crossovers. Of course you could check the time frames if you’re concerned about that sort of thing. You could even do crossovers with movies or books if you want to (as long as they’re well-known).

Anything that was never featured on the show. E.g. Rachel/Buck, Ike/Lou, Sam/Rachel (OK, that’s a stretch). Jimmy/Buck, Cody/Emma, Buck/Ike, Noah/Kid. Get the picture? You can also write about relationships with more than two people. Stories can be of any length. There can be sex or it can be totally innocent. It’s up to you.

I like reading same-sex stories (a.k.a. slash). I like men. Reading about a man with another man is exciting to me because men are sexual beings. I also (though not as much) like to read about two women together. I know that not everyone shares my opinion so these stories will carry a warning. There are many, many communities of all your favourite shows that have these kinds of stories. It's true! Check out the links page for proof. A few years ago my reaction to this type of thing would have been ‘ewwww’ but now I can’t get enough. Why don't you read a slash fiction and see whether it grows on you?

That’s the whole point. This in an unconventional site for people who want to explore new territory. Frankly, I think the whole show has a lot of slash potential. For a start, it’s called "The Young Riders" and features sexy young men sharing a bunkhouse together. They have leather gear and whips. It’s not too much of a stretch for the imagination. Also, I want to make it clear that although I prefer slash, straight adult stories are also welcome here. So are stories featuring group-sex, fetishes, smut, kinky stuff, whatever.

No way. I think it’s important that everybody can properly distinguish between the actor and the character he/she plays.

This site supports all varieties of English. Feel free to use any STANDARD form of English you desire. E.g. British, American, Australian, NZ, South African etc. Please do a spell/grammar check before submitting. I will return stories that have not been spell checked.

It's a pseudonym and it puts me in the right frame of mind while I am working on this site. Pandora was a curious woman and so am I. Pandora also released evil stuff into the world and although I'm not doing that, I'm sure some people might perceive me that way so I'm mocking them.

Yes you can, but as a general rule, I think it’s a good idea that all sites have unique content. It keeps the visitors coming back. I’ve decided to keep this site at least 80% original.
