Canadian Skateboarding

Introduction

In this heritage report I will be talking about Canadian skateboarding, but I will be looking closer at the Canadian professional skateboarder PLG otherwise known as Pierre Luc Gagnon. I will be talking about his career and how he got in and started skateboarding. And ill be talking about the skaters in Regina and how it is and what we got.

Questions

1.     Who is PLG?

2.     When did PLG start skateboarding?

3.     PLG as a vert skateboarder.

4.     What do skaters in Saskatchewan have for them here?

Paragraph 1

PLG’s real name is Pierre Luc Gagnon. He was born in Montreal where his life begun, But he now lives in a happy home in San Diego. This 22 year old fearless professional skateboarder is now one of the top skaters in the world, and the best thing is, he is Canadian. PLG received his first skateboarder on his birthday when he started to skate. He is a vert skater which means he rides on a halfpipie and does vertical tricks. PLG is sponsored by Bones Wheels, Capix, Oakley, Osiris, Randoms Hardware, Vans Shoes, West 49 and Darkstar. So as you know PLG is a vert skateboarder, his signature trick is a 720 which is two revolutions in the air. PLG has one many competitions in his time he won the West 49 World Cup Skateboarding , and he won the 2002 X Games which he picked up $7000 and he won best trick which got him $500. A vert run consist of skaters, each doing 45 second runs trying to nail big tricks in front of some judges to win the competition. PLG just destroyed the half pipe when he did a switch frontside air heel flip revert, the crowd went wild when he won the 2002 X Games. PLG gets 30000 dollars a month, so he is very rich. And that’s all I know about PLG.

Paragraph 2

So any way, I’m from Regina and the skaters here don have lots of stuff for them, but we do have stuff here. There are 4 skate shops in Regina for all us skaters needs and wants. We have two skate parks in Regina, and outdoor one and an indoor one. Also they are building a new outdoor skate park this summer for us to skate. There are some good spots in Regina to skate but most of the time we get kicked because we MIGHT get hurt but after the people leave we go back and skate anyway.

So in conclusion PLG is the best besides Bam Margera but he aint Canadian so he don’t count, and there’s a good skate scene in Regina. I guess that’s my report.
