Just a short note on teas.

The medicinal teas are becoming more and more popular as people turn from pills and chemicals to more time honored ways of dealing with illness. I believe that the proper training should be taken before attempting any of these, since medicinal herbs can be dangerous if taken in large doses.

On the TEAS page, I shall be sharing recipes with you for non-medicinal teas. The recipes will also be teas that I have tried and liked enough to make more than once.

On the SCONES page, I shall be giving recipes for scones that can be used for snacks, desserts,or with a main course.

The following is a list of some of the herbs that I am interested in trying for teas.

Anise-hyssop gives an anise scented tea that should be interesting if you like the taste of liquorice.

Lemon Balm will be a familiar name to most of us and can be used in cooking as well as as a tea.

Ephedra is a new one to me and is reported to have a calming effect on the nerves.

Sweet Pear sounds interesting and is a new menber of the mint family.

Orange Mint sounds good too and is reported to have a distinctly ripe pear taste.

I had originally planned to buy the seeds of most of the herbs that I shall be planting this year but think, instead, that it might be more interesting to visit the actual nursery which is located in Goodwood, Ontario; about an hour's drive from me.
