In
the Beginning
Tyler Don Davis
was born March 15, 1984, 11:56 pm at Ketchikan General Hospital.
He weighed 9 pounds 2 ounces, 21 inches long. Son of Clark and
Sheri Davis, and brother to Keith Davis who was one and a half years
older. Tyler started crawling when he was 6 months old, and
walking close to 9 months. He was a very active child, and began
to run the same time he could walk, running all around. Tyler
would escept from his mother and run around the mall, causing his
mother and his older brother much grief.
2 years old
At two years old Tyler's
favorite movie was Walt Disney's Robin Hood. He would watch out
the window for Keith to return home from preschool. A month after
Tyler's second birthday he moved with his family from the Carlanna area
to 15 miles north of town on Knudson Cove Rd. This was when Tyler
went from being a city slicker to a country boy.
3 years old
At age three Tyler began
preschool at Point Higgins with Mrs. Hill as his teacher. Tyler
also got a new baby brother named Lane. Now there were three
brothers - Keith, Tyler, and Lane.

Preschool
Tyler went to his second
year of preschool at Clover Pass when he was four.
Kindergarten
In his first year of elementary school he remembers
playing with big blocks and making a tunnel, which the kids could crawl
through, playing with the dress up clothes and in the sand box.
He met some of his best friends in that class and remains good friends
with them today. His Kindergarten teacher was Kathy Brown.
1st Grade
In the first grade Tyler had Mrs.
Hargraves. This is where he was introduced to addition and some
subtraction. Tyler learned about kick ball and liked playing it
very much.
2nd Grade
Tylers teacher in second grade was again Mrs.
Hargraves not due to his I.Q. but simply the teacher wanted to start
teaching second graders instead of first graders. This year Tyler
began playing soccer for KYSL, and joined the Cub Scouts.
3rd Grade
Tyler enjoyed the third grade thanks to Mr. O'Hara
who taught him science, how to write stories, and the skills of playing
chess. Tyler would always play his friend Jay Miller a game of
Chess during free time and they were even brave enough to challenge the
teacher from time to time.
4th Grade
In the 4th grade Tyler began the worst part of his
school life ever, grammar. He was introduced to doing times table
tests to see how many problems he could do in a minute. Tyler was
voted to be one of the judges in the class who would settle problems
between students.
5th Grade
The fifth grade was a very active year for Tyler
between building model rockets, kites, and machine building. Tyler
started playing the clarinet in band and participated in soccer, and
Cub Scouts. Mr. Connelly was one of Tyler's all time favorite
teachers. He loved playing kick ball, base ball and four square
with him.
6th Grade
Tyler's last year in elementary school was hard but
very fun. Tyler joined Boy Scouts (Troop 3). At the end of
the year the teachers would challenge the 6th graders to a game of kick
ball. The out come is still debatable but I believe we won.
The 6th graders also had a water fight on the last day of school.
The principal and 6th grade teachers would also participate.
7th/8th Grade
Tyler began 7th grade in 1996 and moved on to 8th in
1997. Tyler enjoyed shop and playing soccer in P.E. He made
the all-star team for KYSL soccer playing forward and midfield
positions.
In 8th grade Tyler moved from playing the clarinet
to playing the bass clarinet. Tyler became interested in
running. He could run a mile in 6.30 at the beginning of seventh
grade. In eighth grade he could run a 6.00 mile.
HIGH
SCHOOL
Freshman
Year
When 9th grade came along Tyler became less
interested in running and started playing soccer every chance he
could. He still played for KYSL and in the winter played indoor
soccer (a newly started program that year). Some other soccer
lovers in the school and Tyler started working on getting a high school
soccer team going. By the end of the year they did and Tyler
played mostly right forward for the Kayhi Varsity Soccer team.
Tyler took Concert Band and Drafting for his two
electives and did well in both of them. Tyler participated in pep
band and had a great time playing at the Southeast Basketball
Tournament in Juneau.
Sophomore Year
As a sophomore Tyler continued playing varsity
soccer. He scored two goals during the season. A new hobby that He
started up this year was snow boarding. He claims it to be much easier
and more importantly cooler than skiing.
Junior Year
Tyler continued being very involved
with coaching soccer. He coached both indoor and outdoor youth soccer
this year. Tyler's new love of the year was Production Tech. Class. He
participated in the audio department learning all of the ways to make
sweet music.
Tyler first big summer job was this year. He worked on the Fishing
Vessel Teasha. He was a deck hand on the seine boat and that summer he
learned that jelly fish stings don't burn nearly as much after the
hundredth or so time being stung.
BIG BAD
SENIOR YEAR!
Still very much interested in
Architecture Tyler's favorite class was drafting. He won third place
for his design of a library. He plans to go to college in washington,
live with his Grandparents, and attend Centralia College for two years.
One of his favorite memories as a senior was playing soccer with all of
his friends for K-Hi.
The summer after his senior year was spent working for Croy
Construction in Angoon Alaska.
Centralia
College
Freshman
Year Again
Centralia College, not a big school
but a taste of what college is like. Tyler took mostly business courses
his first year. He felt that business would be a promising profession
to work towards. He participated in the clubs Rotaract and DECA. As a
part of this club he had the opportunity to travel to Bellingham
Washington, for state competition, and then to National competition in
Orlando Florida. His favorite part of the trip to Florida was
definitely Universal Studios roller coasters.
Another achievement of Tyler's this year
was working with the Veteran Memorial Museum and designed a perspective
of their possible new building. He also worked at the Helly Hansen
Outlet in Centralia.
His summer work after his freshman year was amazing. He worked for
R&M Engineering. The best part about this job is that he got to
work with his best bud Jay everyday.
Second Year
College Student
This year Tyler realized that a business degree
alone would not provide the types of jobs he was interested in. So he
decide to just work towards his Associate in Arts degree until he can
fully decide upon another possibility. Classes mostly consisted of
Englishs, sciences, humanities, and social sciences.
The summer job that Tyler picked up this year was working for Dolly's
Trolley selling tickets on the docks to tourists. He sold tickets for
totem parks, charter fishing, Misty Fjords boat tours and Sea Plane
Tours.
Third Year
At A Two Year School
Since the first year at Centralia college was spent
feeling out his possible interest in business, Tyler needed another two
quarters to finish up his A.A. But the first year did not all go to
waste. Tyler decided that he still was interested in business but would
satisfy it by becoming a teacher. This year he decided that when he
finished with C.C. he would transfer to Central Washington University
and study in Business Education. His big challenge this year was trying
to obtain residency status for his transfer to CWU.
In the making!
