His Game:
P.J. Brown is a low-profile player who can help a team in scoring, rebounding and especially defense, able to play in both forward spots and as a center.

His Career:
Selected by the New Jersey Nets in the 29th spot (2nd round) of the 1992 NBA draft, Brown didn't play for the Nets until the 1993-'94 season. He stayed in the team for 3 years and he kept improving (from 5.7 ppg in '94 to 11.3 ppg in '96).

From 1996-'97 till 1999-'00 he played in the Miami Heat as the starting power forward, joining one of the best teams in the East. In 1998-'99 he averaged a career-high 11.4 points.

In August 2000, Brown has been traded to Charlotte. During the 2000-'01 season he averaged 8.5 points and set career-highs in rebounds (9.3) and in free-throws (85%). The Hornets swept Miami in the first round of the Playoffs and then lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Semifinals. The next year he set new career-highs in rebounds (9.8) and free-throw shooting (almost 86%). He added 8.4 points, 1.3 assists and 1 block. The Hornets made the playoffs again, eliminating Orlando in the first round and losing again in the Eastern Semifinals, this time to the New Jersey Nets.

After a season in Chicago in 2007, Brown he came out of retirement and signed with the Boston Celtics for the end of the 2008 season. He only played 18 games during the Regular Season but helped the team during the playoffs. The Celtics needed an experienced backup PF/C and PJ didn't disappoint, contributing off the bench and celebrating his first and last NBA Title.

Honors:
Brown won a Championship in 2008. He was a member of the NBA All-Defensive Second Team three times (1997, 1999 and 2001).

In Europe:

In 1992-'93, Brown played in Greece for Panionios in order to prepare himself for the NBA. He averaged 17 points, 13.7 rebounds and 3.2 blocks in 26 games.
