Norm Nixon was a good scorer and excellent passer and thief.
His Career:
Selected by the LA Lakers at the 22nd spot of the 1977 Draft. Was a typical point guard but switched to shooting guard after the arrival of Magic Johnson. Averaged 20.4 points and 8.1 assists during the 1982 NBA Playoffs. Traded to San Diego in 1983 for Byron Scott. Missed the entire 1987 and 1988 seasons due to a serious injury.
Honors:
Has won 2 NBA Championships (1980, 1982). Has played in the 1985 All-Star Game. A member of the 1978 All-Rookie Team. Set franchise records for the Clippers in Total Assists for a season, most 3-points made in a game (6) and most points scored in a half (32). He is also the only Clipper ever to record more than 20 points and 20 assists in a single game.
