Comments:
Only a limited number of copies of this bootleg exist. A decent
recording with a noisy audience. This is from the Love Town tour
that followed the release of 'Rattle And Hum.' "Hawkmoon 269"
contains a nasty edit about two minutes in. This is unfortunate,
because this song is only performed a few times on this tour.
It is followed by three more 'Rattle And Hum' songs. The crowd
are clearly "into" the show; clapping and singing along. The
band are in good form, even joking when they mess up at the
beginning of "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."
During "God Part II," Bono's voice gives out. He misses a
verse, but then sings it again, screaming. He croaks out
"Help" and has the audience sing the second verse. He
attempts "Bad," but skips the high notes. He leaves the
Edge to sing "Van Dieman's Land." Bono returns and attempts
a couple of more songs, allowing the audience to pick up the
slack, but his voice is shot. As a result of Bono's voice
problems, the show ended prematurely. During the encore,
only "40" is played, leaving the B.B. King section out.
The disc ends with the promoter telling the audience to
hang onto their tickets. The next two concerts, which were
planned for the next two nights, were postponed until
January, 1990.
