Very good to excellent television broadcast.

Comments:
After playing Sao Paulo, the Edge told a reporter that this was the best
show U2 played in South America, and I have to agree that this is a great
performance. All the songs are performed well, but a few stand out, such
as: "Mofo," "Gone, and "Sunday Bloody Sunday." "Where The Streets Have
No Name" is super; my favorite piece is a new and very cool bass line
Adam plays during the chorus. "With Or Without You" is amazing, and
"Mysterious Ways" has a new, keyboard heavy opening which takes the
funk/pop theme even further. My absolute favorite is "40". It's sung
beautifully by Bono over a simple interpretation of the song by the Edge
alone on guitar, where he plays the bass line and melody at the same
time. There is a lot of emotion in the song, and one of the nicest
renditions ever. No offense to anyone that was there, but it's much
better than the Seattle version. The sound quality is very good,
although there is a little crowd noise during some songs, more than you'd
expect from a broadcast. The editing is somewhat homegrown; the "Lemon
(Perfecto Mix) Intermission" is edited out, as is most of "Pop Muzik,"
and rather than fading in and out, the sound is simply cut off. Other
than that, this is a great bootleg, and an awesome concert. A nice
recording of a very good show broadcast by MTV Brazil. The sound
quality is very good, but not as good as the Dublin 1993 radio broadcast
or the Mexico 1997 television broadcast. An interesting thing is that
keyboards are mixed very loud, so You can hear some sounds you've
probably never heard before. A must for all collectors, but if you are
looking for only one good PopMart recording, you should buy a boot from
the Mexico 1997 broadcast (best sound) or from the Santiago 1998
broadcast (best setlist). By the way, this boot is said t have better
sound quality than KTS Records' BRAZIL. This boot is often referred to
as a soundboard recording, but it is really recorded from the MTV
broadcast on Brazilian television. The sound is a bit flat and the
acoustics of the stadium give this recording a sort of echo sound that
can be annoying at times. This is especially noticeable when the crowd
is clapping. This boot is one of the few PopMart recordings that has
"40" so in that regard, it is a bit of a rarity. "Discotheque" includes
part of "Staying Alive." This CD set comes in double slimline jewel
case. The front cover features a picture of Bono. The booklet contains
a few PopMart concert pictures. The CDs are yellow with big green "U2
SAO PAOLO 1998" letters on them. Since the "Lemon (Perfecto Mix)
Intermission" is omitted, so after Disc 2, Track "unlocking" of the
lemon is heard, and "Discotheque" is played. Before "Staring At The
Sun" is played, Bono wishes the Brazilian soccer player "Romario" a
     happy birthday.
