Time: somewhere between 4:06 and 4:10

It was good to have the crew together again; back to normal; deep in dren again. After Crichton had growled at her one more time Chiana headed away from the living areas. Up on the terrace, under the deep dark of space, things took on a different perspective.

There, watching the slow majestic roiling of a nebula, she found Aeryn - as she'd known she would.

"What is it with you two?" she asked, wading straight in.

Aeryn glanced at her, deciding whether to send her packing. "He no longer trusts me because he believes that I do not trust him . .  ." Her wry smile showed that it made as little sense to her as it did to Chiana.

"About the baby?"

"Yes. No. Only partly," Aeryn evaded.

It was clear she was giving no more. Chiana changed track.

"That was a hell of a bluff back then, Aeryn."

"What?"

"The gun to the head thing - scared the heck out of me - "

"It was not a bluff."

"You'd kill yourself? The secret's that big?"

"I was dying anyway. It would have ended it."

"What about the baby?"

Aeryn gazed out into deep space, unreadable expressions crossing her face, until Chiana thought she was never going to answer.

At last she said, "Death isn't so bad, Chiana. Death is easy. It's living that is so difficult."
