More Silly Ficlets:
A Trip to the Dump

Disclaimer: They’re not mine, I don’t own ‘em, just please let me use your characters for a little while and I promise to return them as well as they began this ficlet. Thanks in advance.

“What is it Pilot? Why have me come to your chamber?” John Crichton was a little breathless from running directly to Pilot from the hanger containing the Farscape Module.

“Moya is experiencing some difficulties with some of the waste material, and needs to get rid of it before leaving orbit.” Pilot said.

“Can’t she dump it into space, as usual?” Crichton said.

“Not here. The regulations on Leugril does not allow for disposal into space. Too dangerous with all the activity.” Pilot said. “We have to bring it planet side and dispose of the waste in an approved area.”

“The dump? You mean we have to go to the dump?” John couldn’t wait; it was a highlight of his youth. “Pilot, where’s D’Argo?”

“He’s on Leugril, as is everyone except Stark and Rygel.” Pilot said.

“Hey Stark, you want to go to the dump with me?” John thought Stark could use some cheering up. He had been moping all weeken.

“The dump? I don’t understand. What is dump?” Stark looked confused.

“It’s a place to dispose of things. But it is much, much more. You helped me on the Gammak base by sharing visions of a beautiful place, now I want to share something with you. Dumps are not beautiful, but they bring back many happy childhood memories. Twice a year my Dad and I would go to the dump to get rid of junk my Mom cleaned out. But more often than not, we would bring more back from the dump than we left. It was a ritual.” John had a dreamy look as he explained the true meaning of a dump to Stark.

“I will go, I could do with a change of scenery.” Stark said.

“John, you have happy memories from a place like this? It stinks!” Stark turned to go to the transport.
“Wait a microt. You won’t smell anything soon, anyway you’ll get used to it. Let’s go over there.” John grabbed Stark’s arm and steered him towards an industrial looking section of the dump.

“Are you sure? Remember what happened the last time you made me do something?” John shuddered when Stark reminded him of the memorial.

“Look, it’s okay, there are no time rifts here, and at least I don’t expect any.” John spoke as they walked toward some interesting looking junk. “Stark, just look, and if you say so, we’ll go. I won’t force you to do anything.”

“John, you were right. Look at all this stuff. I can’t believe anyone would throw things like this away.” Stark said.

Stark and John waded into the pile, now oblivious of the stench. They found many things of interest, but as they were limited by how much they could reasonably carry, they settled on six items.

“What is this dren? I thought you were getting rid of stuff.” D’Argo shook his head in disbelief. He knew Stark was fahrbot, it now looked like John had crossed the line.

“No, no, D’Argo, look at this treasure I’ve found. This glomerring reminds me of Zhaan. I will treasure it forever. I would not have found this but for John convincing me to go with him.” Stark lovingly carried the glomerring to his cell.

D’Argo sat down and put his head in his hands. They were both fahrbot. “Hey big guy, you okay? I was looking for you, but you were already planet side. I thought you would enjoy a trip to the dump.” John walked over to D’Argo, concerned for his friend.

“John, that glomerring is a shrub, a dead potted shrub.” D’Argo stood and left command with Chiana, Aeryn, Rygel and Jool.

Johntoo walked over to John with a decidedly hurt expression, “Hey bro, why did you leave me out. The dump is as much my experience as yours.”

“You didn’t invite me to go planet side with everyone else. Why didn’t you? I think it’s because you wanted to be with Aeryn without me.” John said.

“Oh no! We’re not getting into that. We were all busy provisioning Moya; it wasn’t a fun trip. And incase you haven’t noticed, Aeryn is keeping her distance from both of us. So, what did you get?” Johntoo sat down next to John as they examined the treasures.
