This is the first Utada Hikaru CD, released under the name Cubic U. Strangely enough, she only did about half of the singing on the CD. The other half was done by the "featured artist" Stanley 'Jamal' Hampton. It was all in English, and received praise from various artists. This is one of those CDs that gets better and better everytime you listen to it. I love this CD now.
Some of my favorite songs from Precious are How Ya Doin', Ticket 4 Two, Close To You, and Precious Love. The lyric book had lots of pretty pictures of (I'm assuming) New York. Pretty cool.
First Love
First Love! This has to be one of my favorite albums, and my favorite out of Hikki's three. It's the record setter, the one that sold out before it's official release. It's got Hikki favorites on it like Automatic, Movin' on without you, First Love, Time will tell, and, well, I'd basically be listing off the entire CD, which I have already done.
Distance
The most recent album to be released by Hikki (this is another one that gets better after listening for a long time), and ever since the hit of First Love, the most awaited. I can't say I was disappointed by this CD, even after waiting so long for it. Some people say that they think it should have been better, but, hey, the wanting is better than the having, right?
Distance has all of the singles (Addicted To You, Wait and See, For You/Time Limit, Can You Keep A Secret?) released during the big wait, plus a bunch of new ones. Individually, I like the songs on First Love better. But for some reason, all the songs on Distance go nicely together and make the entire thing really really good. Not to mention Interlude makes a comeback.
You thought I was kidding when you took the Addiction Quiz and saw the "You kill anyone who says Interlude isn't a song" option? Well I was, but still, Interlude comes back as the beginning part of Kotaba ni Naranai Kimochi. Out of these new ones, I'd have to say some of the best are DISTANCE, Eternally, Drama, Kotabani... wait, I'm listing off the CD again, aren't I? Well, all the songs kick ass. And that's all I gotta say about that...
