Who will play?
When you're #1 quarterback is nearly a one-armed man, you're #2 has a hurt back and your #3 is a rookie, who does a coach play?  For the time being, we'll focus on the first two choices.  Brian Griese this year had put up incredible numbers and showed great leadership until a devastating injury by the Raiders. But he's proven to be a quick healer and started vs the 49ers last Sunday.  He was quickley sidelined when a 300+ lb lineman tackled him in the one position his arm couldn't take.   Gus Frerotte stepped in after the Oakland game and won the next 6 games for Denver, clinching a playoff spot. Though his numbers aren't as phenomenal, he's shown that he too can lead Denver to the win.  When both are injured who plays?

Here's the problem- it would help both quarterbacks to know who is starting preferably by the time they return to practice tomorrow.  The one who starts needs to get the majority of the reps in practice. It must be hard to play after getting 50% of the throws the previous week.  It seems as if Shanahan wants Griese to play but will wisely not play him if he's not 100%.  Griese really wants to play and will more than likely bear an incredible amount of pain in that shoulder yet not show it.

The team's press conference is tomorrow and hopefully based on the day's practice, Shanahan will know a little more about what's happening.
