Broncos Dismiss Defensive Coordinator
Defense matters in the NFL.  Just look at some of the top teams still in the Super Bowl hunt- like NY Giants, Baltimore and Oakland.  All the teams have good defenses.
True it's important to have a good offense- definitely important. (If you can't score, you can't win.)  Yet a good defense is important, too.  (If THEY can't score THEY can't win.) The Broncos finished the season with the 24th ranked defense overall and the #2 ranked offense.  Not a good balance.

How do you fix this? New defensive coordinator.  That sounds like an answer.

Two days after the Baltimore game, Greg Robinson was fired.  The Broncos' defense has good players but inadequate coaching.  They have the #2 turnovers forced in the league but cannot stop the run or even worse, the pass.

Mike Shanahan has shown interest in a few namely coaches, specifically Ray Rhodes who was with the Washington Redskins this year.  Washington has a good defenive strategy because of Rhodes.  He has mentioned he does not want to coach there again and actually has talked with the Broncos' organization.

He'd been with the organization for 5 years, including the two Super Bowl wins but I guess he just didn't "show us something" this year.
